I’m not saying he needs to be in front the camera, but people would bitch if Bonnette were out there speaking on the universities behalf.

Why is anyone speaking at all? Kelly's been fired. Everybody stfu about coaching search until it's time for the intro press conference.

I agree with this statement. This just really implicates that Woodward is being fired and that the BOS and a team of alum are running this search.

No one is saying keep Woodward, we just think the governor boasting about it and his involvement in the media is not good for filling the position

Dude you are being ridiculous

Like it or not we have an AD, Woodward, and an acting interim president. For Landry to be speaking as much as he is, but moreso the absolute childish aggressive tone in how he responded, is so unprofessional for an organization like lsu and lsu athletics

A grandstanding , loud, interjecting fricking governor into an athletic dept using no state funds for the position is absolutely a red flag of don’t fricking come here for coaches

Board always hires the coach. Always have. Always will.

He's just saying something that shouldn't be a flex but people are freaking out over it. Grandstanding politically and all that.

Potential coaches are going to love hearing that all we care about is "what the taxpayers are on the hook" for. It's also wonderful to know the governor thinks taxpayers pay the football coaches salary or buyout.

"This is ridiculous. Lawyers would be disbarred for the way these agents act," he said. "It's really time for the NCAA to put on some guardrails on college sports."

"If big billionaires want to spent all that kind of money, no problem," he said. "But if I gotta go find $53 million...it's not gonna be a pleasant conversation." Landry confirmed Wednesday that he was involved in discussions about the coaching change

Translation: LSU football is fricked

No agent will advise his client to take Landry’s new deal for college football coaches.

Also, what is this imbecile talking about finding $53m for Kelly?

I would much rather keep Woodward if the option is bringing in the full McNeese crew.

Seriously? Landry could just use some diplomacy, let the new Prez come in and hire his own AD. Instead, he’s a meme, as usual, and shines a huge light on how dysfunctional this state— and LSU’s leadership— is. shite like this could absolutely sour sought after candidates and be the deciding factor between LSU and another opportunity?

Is this proof enough for all of the naive souls who think Landry was only involved as a formality because LSU doesn't have a president?

He's in the discussions and the candidates will be "poll tested" by the cabal handling this impending cluster...

bullshite!
I for one won’t renew my season tickets.
Landry started his law school studies at Southern. I suspect he applied to LSU law school and was denied.

So essentially we have an AD vacancy as well now. Who exactly do we expect to sign on as HBC without knowing who his immediate supervisor will be?
