From his FB. Embarrassing that he has to do this.

Please tell me that more than 73,000 Tiger Fans will show up for the game today and actually stay for more than a half. Last week was embarrassing. The #7 team in the BCS deserves better.

That's what happens when LSU caters to the whine and cheese crowd.

He, you, and others can get over it.

I'll sell my tickets and stay home. I'm winning.

You have a poor definition of winning. I guess you define winning by everyone getting a trophy. fricking pathetic.

They didn't make a sound when they ratcheted prices up on the die-hards and priced many of them out. The turnover brought in a different type of fan. One that views it as an event and a chance to network or just be seen.

Less emotional investment brings this type of response from a different type of fanbase. Then they punish everyone by taking a home game and moving it to Dallas.

Money created the problem. Money now solves the problem.

I stay till 0:00 in the 4th quarter. Every game. Period. They're calling out the people they are busy fleecing to help finance our program at the level we're at. They wanted them. Otherwise tickets wouldn't cost what they do.

LSU asked for it. Now they're getting it.

Two threads this morning where a typical LSU "fan" tactic is on display. They get called out, and try to shift the blame to somebody else. Happening here and on the campus trash thread.

Yep. The part where I said I go to every game and stay till 0:00 in the 4th quarter is very typical fan behavior.

I'll also ask if you think Local radio personalities think its a great idea to make a habit of bashing LSU fans?

They told us last year on air on NSD that the reason LSU got hosed so bad at the last minute was because of "negativity of LSU Fans," and now we have been told that we are crappy Fans and deserve to have Home Games taken away because the types of Fans LSU has don't support the team properly.

Guess that's typical behavior from media personalities close to the program as well. But I won't hold my breath waiting on hearing some criticism of them.

EDIT: I don't stay home on purpose and don't leave early. But I don't take kindly to being told the Frankenstein Fans are my fault. I know who and what brought them into the Fanbase as season ticket holders.

It's something recruits take into account. In their own words.

We do. It's not asking too much to expect people to show up and stay for the whole game. Or maybe it is

and deserve to have Home Games taken away because the types of Fans LSU has don't support the team properly.

Nobody's saying anything about home games being taken away except you.

Living out of state, I don't get a chance to make all the home games. But I did attend Miss St game. I frankly could not believe what I was seeing when by the middle of the 3Q the place was half full. The game was very much in the balance...nothing close to a blow out.

I will never understand the rationale from anyone for leaving that early for what we pay for a ticket.

People were saying in another thread that LSU football games have always been a sporting AND social event and they were right. Unfortunately, the proportion of the crowd that goes to the game primarily for the social aspects has steadily in increased in the last few years and games like Miss St are the result. The other issue is that LSU fans have gotten spoiledby success. If LSU is not contending for championships, LSU fans just won't be as interested.

Was 73k the actual attendance? If so that is beyond pitiful. I know the part about the fans leaving early is true because it was painfully obvious on national tv as it was pointed out by the broadcasters. I have no reason to expect anything different from our "rabid" fans today. LSU could be up a lot, down a lot, or a little it won't matter. Our fan have got to beat the traffic . It's first and foremost on their minds apparently.

What's so all fired important that they have to get back to the house 20 minutes faster? I've always wondered about this.

apparently a lot of TDers are part of the whine and cheese crowd, because a lot of them brag about leaving early.

Gordy can really go fly a kite. This less than intelligent creature makes his entire per annum compensation directly/indirectly related to LSU football. LSU has created a huge brand and that brand draws from multiple sources of cash including some fair weather fans. But, the cash does not know the level of committment etc from a fan.

I don't buy the recruiting BS. Used to believe it, no more.

I will be at the game today and stay until the end. I did pass up opening day of duck season in N. La to attend the game + I flew in from a week long business trip which does help me pay for my parking pass and seats in section 103 -- not exactly cheap. BTW = I have left early several times and I really doubt anyone would think (if you knew me) my level of commitment to LSU across the board was weak.

Bitch about something else. This is ridiculous

I don't think this is true. I'm a season ticket holder for 40 years. What has changed drastically is the parking situation and the number of people that are on campus strictly to party. There are at least twice as many cars fighting for parking spots. 10 years ago I could find a parking spot in a horse shoe lot near the quadrangle 3 hours before kickoff. Not anymore. Now I have to hike in from off campus because I rufuse to pay the exorbitant prices for a reserved parking pass (if you can get one). If I want to leave early to beat the traffic I will.

The tailgating culture is out of control. The problems outweigh the benefits, IMV.
