Good to see JD using the middle of the field more

Since he's started throwing between the hash marks, the offense has really opened up.
Great progress on his part to work on hitting crossing routes and slants.

It baffles me we don’t use the TEs down the middle of the field. Only along the line of scrimmage or on sideline routes.

Why? Our WRs feast over the middle. Trying to force TEs up the seam just keeps the backers and safeties in the zone that Lacy and Nabors are trying to attack

TE SEAMS are great against cover 2 or 3.

I mean, we're 2nd in the nation in total offense as of today averaging 550 yards per game. I'm not complaining about our TE use (and I think we do a great job of using Taylor).

Every time he throws, I expect a reception.
He is fun to watch.

I believe that is because we don’t use a lot of two TE sets. When you have 3 WRs out there and they are getting open, you don’t need 2 TEs.

I’m not complaining either. Just an observation. A TE with Taylor’s size and athletic ability typically can excel down the middle agst backers esp. if solid WRs are stretching the field along the edges.

Middle of field was open all night. Was surprised when we stopped exploiting it for a bit during the game. Finally went back to targeting middle of field and game was over!

TBH, it wasn't used last year of the first few games this year.

I am starting to get those Joey B vibes when he is on the field to be honest... Game is slowed down for him and he looks lasered out there.

Every time the ball leaves his hand now I expect it will be catchable. My first thought is never “I hope that’s on target,” it’s “I hope we catch it.”
Our receivers are doing great, it’s just that I know what stops our drives is not bad passes, it’s missed catches.

It takes time to run those routes and he had it most of the time last night.
