Gotcha, my bad. Just put the format back to double elimination after Tuesday.
I’m not going this year like I planned if we’re only guaranteed 1 LSU game. 12 hours in the car for 1 LSU game is too much.

making it single elimination really makes people not want to travel knowing your team is only guaranteed one game

I'm thinking maybe just waiting to see if LSU makes the final on Sunday and going to Hoover just for the championship game on Sunday if we make it that far. It's still driving there to see only one game but it's an important game.

I guess you don’t realize that they, both, are going to pitch next weekend no matter what. Either in live games in the tournament or bullpen sessions in order to stay on schedule.

If you want to work both starters, then start Anderson on Friday, let him go 4 innings, then bring in Eyanson in the 5th thru 8th. They could each get @ 60 pitches and 4 innings. Then let Cowan or Evans or literally anyone else pitch the 9th. Score/game does not matter. If you win, pitch Johnny Wholestaff on Saturday & get ready for regionals.

I would very readily bet anyone who wants to do so that Jay doesn't give a flying frick about winning this tournament.
He may start his pitchers in their normal spots, but in no way will he throw any of them an outrageous number of pitches.

The only schools that consistently "travel" to Hoover are: LSU, State, OMiss, and now Tennessee. Locals (Bama/AU) will show up in decent numbers IF their teams are competitive.

Reality is that with this format the advantage for the top seeded teams playing Saturday if any of the bottom seeds make it that far would be near insurmountable. If one of them made it they would be playing their 4th game in 4 days with a johny wholesale approach against a team playing their 2nd game and likely their Saturday starter.
I do not like this format at all for this and other reasons.
