The Longhorns have had 10 defensive backs drafted over the last 10 years, with four first-round selections (Kenny Vaccaro, Earl Thomas, Michael Griffin and Aaron Ross). That's impressive, but LSU's had 15 defensive backs selected over the same time period, while Alabama's had 13 (compared to Florida's 10).

This article was from 2016!

I’m 49, I’m a man, (couldn’t help myself) and never in my life have I ever heard Texas being referred to as DBU and been going to games since 1975...

Y'all do know 2000 started a new century right?

Actually, it did not. In spite of what was constantly reported, the new century started in 2001. Sorry for being pedantic.

I just love how everyone wants to copy us with "DBU"

Texas was the first school to ever call themselves “DBU” in the 70s, it’s been floated around ever since to the school with the best DB draft success. While I agree LSU at the moment is DBU, you could say LSU copied Texas in terms of the naming.

In terms of historically, Texas has as many 1st round DBUs drafted (6) since 2000 as LSU has in the history of their program. It’s clearly been rough times for Texas the last however many years, but the numbers are there.

No he didn't. Since the year 2000 which is this century. Texas has had 6 first round DBs.

LSU has had 6 first round DBs in the history of your program. So he was basically right.

Texas has had 14 first round DBs.

LSU has had 6 first round DBs since the 2007 draft.

- Landry (2007)
- Peterson (2011)
- Claiborne (2012)
- Reid (2013)
- Adams (2017)
- White (2017)

I only count 3 dbs for Texas since 2000.
- Vaccaro (2013)
- Thomas (2010)
- Jammer (2002)

I might have made a mistake but I don't see it.

The DB”s we’ve had are way better than yours. Who in your secondary right now was voted in the pre- season all Americans, last time I recall, LSU has 2. And the same 2 are projected top 10 picks.

Also who’s the last DB that made an impact in the NFL from Texas?
