I didn't seen any comments on this, but I just watched the replay a couple of times and noticed that it wasn't a catch and likely would have been called back if it had been reviewed.

Looked 100% catch to me. No questions if you like your knees in functional order.

It was a TD. He had possession when he broke the plane.

He was fumbling the ball and never gained possession before it hit the ground.

I agree. When he went to the ground the ball definitely moved.

The ball can shift and still be considered 'controlled'

He didn’t fumble the ball till after he had broke the plane.

When he came down it moved in his hands and I thought it was incomplete personally. But, with college replay you can never tell what they're gonna call. I'm glad they didn't review it.

I disagree. He had the football when his foot hit the pylon. TD! Then the ball came loose.

Look again.

That's the NFL. Every play is reviewed in college. They can buzz the referee at any time.

I was a good "no review". The replays showed that he bobbled the ball then his feet left the ground. He didn't have control until he was out of bounds. It would have gone against us.

I do wish they would have tried to get Burrow another chance for a passing TD. The quick slant that was batted down would have been money.

Reminds me a lot of that Dez Bryant catch called back vs GB

he was going to the ground when he caught it tho

quote:

If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent) he must maintain complete and continuous control of the ball throughout the process of contacting the ground, whether in the field of play or in the end zone. This is also required for a player attempting to make a catch at the sideline and going to the ground out of bounds. If he loses control of the ball which then touches the ground before he regains control, it is not a catch. If he regains control inbounds prior to the ball touching the ground it is a catch.
