Given the injury apocalypse, I imagine the plan for this week will be conservative

I don't mean gameplan, I mean players that play. If Lane could cancel this game, he probably would, I bet.

I know you have to go into every game going all out to win and then adjust once up, and any team can lose. That's what every coach says...I think its pretty obvious they go into a game vs McNeese with a lot of guys not playing at positions of dire depth.

First of all...Landen Clark is definitely starting right? They are going to have to give Leavitt the week off with that Hammy. I personally would not play anyone at LB or DB that you project to play a lot of time. I wouldn't play Dillin Jones at all. Guys like Geralds, Prince, Ross, etc why would they play in this one?

I think they give Leavitt some live reps. Could use it before jumping back into SEC play

I would imagine you’ll be sitting guys like Winnie & Dillin as they know the offense (and Winnie got banged up at the end of A&M).

Leavitt might get 2-3 series before they pull him.

I doubt they let Seaton or Dottery play this week.

Ideally Leavitt plays the first half and we have a comfortable enough lead to sit him the second half.

Second half see what we’ve got on the depth chart.

If the approach is too lackadaisical it will be a Les Miles non conference home game special where its like 24-13 in the 4th quarter

I remember those days. Unfortunately, if this is the case the team may very well fall in the polls. Doesn’t really matter since it’s early in the year but still frustrating nonetheless.

Its probably more value for Leavitt to heal the hamstring than to get reps vs Mcneese

I think they're probably going to give Sam some time to work on his newfound "OMG I can actually throw instead of run" powerup. No better way to get that skill locked in than against McNeese.

That said, I truly hope he sits for the majority of that game.

Leavitt needs to play the first half and keep throwing from the pocket.

The more reps he gets there, the better he will be.

I could see it making sense to not play anyone this is nicked up.

We can beat mcneese by 50 with all backups in. So guys that have any injuries sit them, starters and key guys that aren’t hurt play but pull early

I'd love to see a lot of guys get some rest.

particularly, Leavitt with the Hammy. Maybe give him a series, if you feel you need to.... otherwise let Clark go play.

But, I'll let the coaches coach.

If Leavitt plays, its a tremendously stupid decision.
If his hamstring lingers, hes reduced as a player and is less effective.

Rest him

That is the correct answer. Leavitt should rest this week

Him being healthy is more important than some reps vs Mcneese

I didn't originally think Clark would start, but a hamstring can improve a lot over 2 weeks with no strain. Given his main difference maker is his legs, he has to be healthy going down the stretch.

So yeah, it's the clark show this week...and people will be on the 'clark should start' bandwagon come Monday
