First half was good, against a tough team on the road.

Ika didn't play

No AC, nor IV's, at half, on 90° night.

Lots of cramps and injuries

Lawrence out most of second half.

Delpit, uncharacteristically, had several missed tackles.

#4 was not up to the rest at Safety. Harris needs a lot of work, or will Brooks or Hampton get a shot?

There is more...

I'd bet this is good medicine that tasted real bad, and that this D will rebound after being made to look average.

Yeah it’s not like the defense has ever bailed the offense out of a jam. It’s about time the favor has been returned.

We gave up 530 yards to Texas Saturday, in 2011 we gave up 533 to a lesser talented West Virginia with more restrictive rules for offense and that 2011 LSU defense is considered by many as the best LSU defense ever. These people need to stop the knee jerk reactions every damn week. They look like idiots.

I rewatched it twice and don’t t feel nearly as worried about the D as I was while I was seeing it live. We gave up some big plays but were in a competitive position on just about all of them. It seemed like everyone made a few great plays and everyone gave up a few plays in uncharacteristic fashion.

They also need to get used to getting back on the field quickly after the offense scores with such fast tempo

AND....

For the first time in LSU history the offense was scoring so freaking fast our D could not get any rest. The problem with the D at Texas included the offenses freakishly fast scoring drives, heat on the turf, halftime problems and losing some vital depth.

We are filthy on D and I'll take that unit to battle in any game.

I agree Expo. While it was very frustrating watching Texas convert on (it seemed) every 3rd down in the 2nd half, I choose to give the defense a break here. Texas is a high powered offense. It was very hot. Aranda rarely blitzed, which gave a very good QB all the time he needed. It's game 2. They will get better.

As for which is DBU, it's humorous that Texas considers themselves any better than average. LSU's DBs were often in position but misjudged the ball. They will get better.

Texas DBs were rarely within 2-3 steps of our WRs who seemed to be wide open all night.

2011 team gave up 27 to Oregon early in the season and they were close to scoring again if I recall correctly.

I ain’t worried about it.

We got 4 turnovers in that game also. We will definitely begin to see more of those as the season goes forward.

Reminded me of the AtM game all over again. Texas made some clutch plays ALL night long. Our DB's looked out of position at times. When a scrambling QB gets out of the pocket BAD things usually happen to the defense. Give credit to the Longhorns. We'll see a lot of the same from Ala. and AtM. We need to get BETTER. NO punts for Texas in the 2nd half. That's pretty bad. DBU got torched.... Humble pie is good - especially early in the season.

You play to win the game. Our D made plays when it needed to. Its not like we were playing some chump team and Ehlinger was playing out of his mind. I think TX beats OU this year.
