Playbook: LSU

Formation: Gun Trips

Play: Double Pass Rail

The play will either be a huge gain or a TD. You’re welcome.

I think running back #0 is John Emery.
He’s actually really good. Great vision speed and cutting ability.

Watkins and Sampson Jr are super fast.

Mason Taylor catches literally everything. Nuss has a cannon and scrambles like a mad man Receivers are ok, Kaleb jackson is a monster Defensive backs get absolutely cooked if you play on heisman.

In online mode the secondary gets cooked. I move Perkins out of the edge position they have him at in blitz packages and back to LB for nickle and move Jones inside to tackle. My edges with Womack and Swinson with consistent pressure from Perk on blitzes can make up for the shite secondary in online mode.

Offense is pretty damn good and I usually end up with Taylor and Jackson being my stars. Z.Thomas is really awesome as well on the passing game and has returned several kicks online.

I’m like 23 wins and 19 losses so have been playing a lot. Love the RPO.

Defense is tough. You can't just pick a play and use that play against the AI every time or it will absolutely work you. You have to actually disguise your defenses which is honestly pretty fun. I'll drop 8 into coverage but show blitz and the AI will max protect, keep the RB in, and have a slot guy as hot and it fricks them up. Conversely I'll show cushioned cover 2 but bring the house and the AI will think I'm in cover and I can chase the quarterback out of the pocket.

can you briefly explain how to do this?

Offense is really explosive, Watkins is blazing fast , Taylor is a mismatch and the defense is awful whether in man or zone coverage.

LSU’s playbook is pound for pound one of the best in the game imo.

The adaptive AI is like playing the computer that knows what your move is based on what you call.

This was the case in the old games. I would always have some dependable schemes in my defensive audibles. Often times, I would call an all-out blitz, then audible into coverage, and vice versa.

Difference is that the AI adjustments not only happen based on your formations and typical play calls, but even happen post snap.

If you start hitting a few flat routes or corner routes, soon those same combinations will have the defender reacting different to that concept and typically they will take that away from you until you make them pay elsewhere

The AI also isn’t pasted to their defensive zone. They react pretty realistically to broken containment plays and plays that would seem to take advantage of a soft spot in the zone.

Just finished my first dynasty season with LSU. Went undefeated and won the CFP. Seems that I had the same few standout players as everyone else but Toviano also had a big impact.

In "Freshman" mode you beat everyone 110 to 0.

Go up 1level to "Varsity" mode and be prepared to throw several picks a game.

I haven't even tried "All-American" or "Heisman"... I'd have to invent new cuss words.

Perkins won the Heisman in my dynasty. Other than that, the defense kinda sucks. Weeks hits hard.

The offense is damned good. As mentioned, Mason is always a passing option. I can pretty much move the ball downfield by just running it with Jackson and Williams and an occasional play action pass.

The majority of reviews are going to be based on the skill level of the player, not necessarily LSU. Defense is pretty damn hard. Passing is really difficult if you don't have much football knowledge. Kicking is difficult as well.

NCAA 14 is way too old to compare it to and it doesn't play like Madden. Very fun and challenging.

This sums up my experience after a week of playing.

Defense is tough, no matter what team you play with. The pursuit angles of defenders are so atrocious at times, that if you miss the first tackle, the CPU is going 80 yds for a TD, regardless of what defense you call.

Kicking I'm getting the hang of, but I still double-doinked a short go-ahead FG a couple of days ago because I powered up the kick a split-second too long. I almost lost my mind.

Went 9-3 losing to USC, Ole Miss and A&M, but won the national title due to an absolute breeze of opponents through the playoffs. Im in year 2 and encouraged Nuss to transfer as I got a 5* scrabbling QB
