Go "not block" for Georgia Southern then. If you want to play for UGA, you'll have to wait a full year. Thanks for nothing!

Probably a feeble “adjustment” to try and compensate for our shite OL

In 2019, in the greatest offense in our history, our TE blocked a whole lot. And did it very well.

I mean, we likely sold him on exactly what he wants to do while recruiting him.

It seems this is pretty likely. Tell em exactly what you want to to get them here......sell early playing time that hinders development, and sell early exit. Not the best strategy for long term program success.

Kittle is a top 3 TE in the NFL, Arik needs a better excuse

But if Gilbert wants to reach his full potential as a TE he will always limit that by not doing half of the positions responsibilities. If he truly doesn’t then just make the move to WR. He would be a very good WR but he has the potential to be an all time great TE.

Moss isn't the same type of TE as Gilbert.

Gilbert reminds me so much like Evan Ingram and oJ Howard.

Ask yourself this question. Would we be ok with an o lineman saying “I’ll run block but I won’t pass block”. Is it not the same thing? You are literally removing half your responsibilities.

I’m not saying Gilbert can’t say he doesn’t want to block. I am saying he can’t play TE if he doesn’t want to block.

If y’all can’t understand code I don’t know what to tell you. This is a guy saying “All you nursing home coaches with your archaic systems can have this. This is not at all what you sold me on when I came here.”

Maybe he wasn't sold to play TE...

O made promises to these recruits a lot of them highly rated out of state guys that we could never real in. Those promises appear to be nothing.

Does it surprise you? Doesn't surprise me. Why? O told the entire fan base the defense was light years better than last year...

Also he is a freshman, and he plays like a freshman. All the praise everyone gives him for being a physical specimen has got to his head. He wasn't really blocking anybody anyways, guys generally ran right by him if they were any good.

This right here. He is fine with blocking, but not for 90% of the game... he needs more passes to him.

He is a frickin tight end. If he wants to play receiver, let him play receiver.

Honestly at this point, it just being selfish! If you can't see see how bad our line is and that he's playing with 2 back up true freshman QB's. Of course, your role is going to change. Hell it's all changed. Let him opt out, get his mind right. Hopefully he comes back, but if not, let's roll with kids who actually want to be here. I'm on my Miles quote from here on out, "You gotta have the chest to play here...For good and for bad! Need more "Brennan" mentality.
