I haven't been to a game since 2012 when I was still a student and I would just walk from my apartment close to campus for games. But I'm going to the Vandy game with the wife who's never been to a game before. Gonna have to drive there so might as well ask so I can start planning.
We live in Oak Hills, normally just shoot down Burbank if I'm going to/from the LSU area when it's not gamedays. Is there any good way to get on Burbank headed to St George after the game, or is it better to just park by the North Gate and get to the interstate? Getting on the interstate from Dalrymple only goes one way so we'd have to get off on Louise or Government and turn around to get back on going the right way, is that what yall are saying or do I take Highland all the way downtown and get on the interstate there?
Guy above me said just take Highland to Louise and pop on the interstate there. That sounds like what I might do

quote:The distance you have to walk to get an uber is never worth it. Any direction you leave the stadium in a 2-3 mile radius has contra flow so your uber driver isn't able to get to you. I tried this one time and it was an awful experience. In any situation, park your car on campus and take your car home.
Walking off campus to find an Uber?
Another option is parking off of campus and having a buddy drive you to your car. Regardless, you want to be able to sit down in a car to get through contraflow unless you like walking 45+ minutes to get through contraflow.

Whatever you do, don't park on the north side! Its HORRIBLE.... East west or south is much much better

When I lived in Zachary I would park at one of the churches on Dalrymple. It would take longer to walk from the stadium to my truck than it did to drive back home.

We use to park On July street and walk through the apartments. Longer walk but getting home was a breeze doing that exact route you mentioned.
But now I woud sa park in the grass by Walk-Ons. And take Burbank home. It's contraflow all the way to Bluebonnet or Gardere. We go that way(heading to Gonzales) and it's usually about 30-45 minutes to get home.

Drive to campus very early in the morning with a bike in your vehicle. Park on the side easiest to get where you want to go after. Ride bike home. Uber back to campus later.

I've parked at Ivars and rode my bike to and from campus for games quite a few times.

We will be staying near I10/Essen. We don’t mind walking off campus to get an Uber. We will most likely not be driving to campus. But getting back to hotel definitely makes driving to campus a little more appealing. We were originally planning to just walk a ways off campus to get an Uber but wasn’t where would be a good spot.

If you're going to Uber, walk to the Chimes, drink 3-5 more beers, then order Uber after traffic has cleared

In that case your best bet is to find a friendly tailgate or a bar to hang around until traffic starts to let up (probably at least 2 hours) so you can get an Uber.

Did this last Saturday. It was still 45 minutes to get a ride requested after letting everything died down. We didn’t get picked up until 12:45

I’ve used this shuttle before. Worked out great. They pick up from hotels in that area. Website lists the specific properties. Have 2 options for pickup after the game.
