What is the best way to get home after the games these days? Walking off campus to find an Uber? I used to have the luxury of living on/near campus and would just walk home, but now I’m fighting the battle of having to get back to a hotel.

I highly recommend a jet pack if you have the means.

Eta: For a serious answer, it really depends which direction you are heading after the game. But generally it is best to drive a vehicle yourself because its difficult for uber/lyft to get onto campus after a game to come pick you up. If you are downtown you can take a bus to/from campus at Pastime Restaurant or check with your hotel and see if they have a shuttle service.

You are leaving about too much pertinent information.

Where is home?
Which direction is home?
Which mode of transportation did you take to the game?
Are you trying to leave immediately after the game?

I left after the game was over, after watching the field storm, savored the atmosphere. Then walked to car on the North side of campus and got home in like 6 minutes down Highland to Interstate. Y’all need better strategies.

This,

We stayed in the stands and waited til the band played, after the field had emptied out. Then walked around to the locker room exit so my 11-year-old could say hi to some of the players. When we finally started walking back to the car at the Ag Building Parking lot, North Stadium Dr was empty. I got a great picture. It took us 15-20 minutes to walk back to the car, but we basically drove right off campus.

This is basically what we do after every game we attend (1 or 2 a season),

The trick is, to not be in a hurry. enjoy the atmosphere around campus,

I did not realize the beauty of parking on the north side of campus close to that Highland Road exit off of campus. Last year for the Florida game we ended up parking over in that direction for the first time and it literally took no time to get off campus. That was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on campus or tiger Stadium that night …but the best part by far was literally the five minutes it took to get off campus! It blew my mind. I was very fortunate to do a lot of tailgating in the A lot over the years…so to get home literally took hours every time. This was an eye-opening experience.

Usually we park in college town neighborhood at a friend's house but weren't able to for Ole Miss, so we rode with friends who have a pass across from the vet school. Stayed whole game, watched the field storm, and took over an hour to get home because we couldn't get off river road until we were to the new state capitol. Will never park on the west side of campus again.

I learned this hard lesson a few years ago. Ag Lots or North in the hood. Plus that deli on N Highland is awesome postgame.

Word to the wise, if someone even GIVES you a parking pass in that small lot behind Matherne's next to where the old Box was...decline it. The way they get you out of that lot postgame is one of the most fckd up parking experiences I've ever had. Took an hour and half to get back to the hotel.

we parked in someone's lot near chimes and paid $45. it was a 2 min walk to chimes. after the game we spent 30 minutes at the tailgate drinking a couple more beers before walking back to the car. traffic was still moderate but flowed and we were on the interestate via dalrymple in about 5 minutes.

as others have stated it depends on where you are heading.

Yeap...the key has always been park north of highland and you should be smooth sailing when you get back to your car and go north.

I will be down there for Bama this year, staying at Home2 at I-10 and Siegen, this seems like the play. I was planning on going to Chimes anyway, so will just hold off on over paying for a parking pass and just look for a lot.

Can you share where this was specifically? Thanks.
