Time for a change. What would it take for this game to be scheduled earlier in the year, before bye weeks for both teams?

Is this entirely an SEC office call? Or do the schools have any say in the scheduling of conference games? Assuming Bama is dictating the terms in some capacity.

I'm not disagreeing and asking honestly, what does that accomplish in your opinion?

I been saying we needed to do this for years... Months on TD. Glad to see the call catching on.

Fully agree. I would rather play them earlier. Not like having time has helped.

You neglected to opine how that in any way benefits us. Change for the sake of change is not good policy.

I like the fact that we get a week to heal and prepare. That they do as well is not a good reason for change.

Three things:
1) Saban won't use his bye in Sept or early Oct, thus, he won't have two weeks to prep his defense. And nobody can deny that the mutual byes have been favoring them.
2) Alabama often has young position groups that show susceptibility early in the season. This year it was their secondary. Granted, so do we, but it varies year to year.
3) In years we lose, early season losses are easier to recover from.

Playing them before they totally have their shite together. Not giving Satan an extra week to game plan. Ultimately taking all factors into account, higher probability for an LSU win.

Should it matter when we play them? No. Am I desperate for any advantage possible to beat them? Yes.

I just want to see Bama have to play at Arkansas in November. Just once in my lifetime.

Giving Saban two weeks to prepare is usually a loss that's why moving it up matters

I get it. I guess I see at as both teams have the same oppurtunities so it seems like it wouldn't make it difference. I don't see how it could hurt, that's for sure with the way things have been going.

Unfortunately imo we can't seem to be satan and the gumps with the extra week of preparation. That said not sure it would make a difference if we both had one week only, but 2 weeks ain't working. I'm for a change.

And you believe making this case to the SEC would convince them?

All of this falls under "be better."

While we're at it, let's trade Florida for Tennessee game every year.

I guess I'm wondering what changes if both teams only have one week. Each team still has the same amount of time to prepare.

I like the Florida game, but completely agree if we're strictly talking about a competitive advantage.

Losing to Bama early will allow LSU to climb back into the top 5- unless we lose another game we shouldnt.

But basically- he is saying our coaches cant come up with anything to beat Bama with 2 weeks. The same will happen with 1 week to prepare. Saban> LSU HC

They didn't start taking a bye week before us until we started taking ours before them
