I can bring up a slew of posts and posters who said time and again that we would run about 70% of the time this year considering QB issues and WR issues. Nobody should be surprised, and this was pretty much expected from just about everybody on this board.

IMO though, unless we can consistently get push up front, we will look like shite against MSU, Auburn, UF, and Bama trying to run the ball the whole game. I don't think he should go Bret ball. We need to balance it at least 65/35.

right now, we are averaging 72 plays a game. I think it will be closer to 67-68 once SEC play starts.

I've watched the game again, and we attempted a lot of short passes early, half were dropped. After that, it seemed like we just wanted to run the ball and get the game over with. MSU's weakness is their porous defense. They are giving up 311 ypg through the air against terrible competition. We should start off throwing to catch them off guard.

I got laughed at for saying we'd only throw 20 times a game. 59 passes in 3 games...

A team should have a more even split between run and pass.

It seems like I heard somewhere that a "Balanced Attack" is good. Maybe I just dreamed it. Maybe all run or all pass is better than having a good mix of both.

Lots of people here are generalizing that those of us that feel LSU in one dimensional should start "throwing it all over the place".... That is not at all what I think they should do. Why is everybody so quick to call you negative if you express an opinion about LSU being too run dependent and not figuring out how to include more passing in the offense?

Not everybody can simply cheer lead all the time and those that do cheer lead are not better fans than those that look at the team and express concern about something.

tell me the last time LSU was even split run and pass

and why would you have an even split with 2 QBs with 1 start between them prior to this year?

were you watching LSU football in 2008?

If LSU throws the ball more than 25 times in a game this year I would be willing to bet they end up getting blown out. 20-25 pass attempts is all this team needs. Jennings is a game manager, not Kenny hill, and expecting him to blow teams away is ridiculous.

they take it as a personal attack on CLM...most I know that say this love CLM but just want the team to be able to move the ball when teams are stopping our run.

Not necessarily. Personally, I can't help but to lump most of these type posts with the others that are posting during the game and after it.

Seriously, did you see Moustache's post Saturday? Already conceded a Miss St loss. Something about "when LSU has started 0-1 in the sec."

It's these people that are the worst. There's about 10-15 posters that do nothing but lick the Alabama scrotum and compare every gameplan, every strategy, everything to what Alabama is doing.....

There's also the posters that think that whatever LSU rolls out as a game plan, game calls, etc....vs a ULM or Sam Houston is the same exact thing they'll do vs SEC teams

It's ridiculous

Wiscosin bro?

I really don't understand why people bitch about all the running. Who gives a shite if its boring!? I sure as shite don't! I mean the old power 1975 type offense sets us and so few teams apart who do it well. I don't want to be like Oregon, I despise that type of football. And...historically when a power team like us plays a speed team like Oregon, power wins...do most of you idiots who complain forget the first week in 2011!?

Les Miles Football wins games, and in the end that is all that matters.

Trust Les, Win More

Um, Wisconsin? We were losing "with it"; we adjusted (spread them with three wide); and we won.

It worked fine so far, but we haven't played an SEC game yet. MSU and the rest of the teams on the SEC schedule are not going to let us run up the gut. We'll have to throw the ball 25 times at least to loosen up their D a bit.

So you don't think we'll have more difficulty running against SEC teams?

And with our line and rb's, I would expect us to be in the top 20 in rushing knowing we ran it 75% of the time against 3 very weak teams.

Do you agree it will be tougher to run against SEC teams?

or you run it up the gut to set up the play action which was worked well so far the few times we've used it.

our style is punch you on the face still you can't stop the run then we run through you or throw it behind your corpse...right?

Averaging 4.3 yards per carry, the Tigers have run the ball more times (157) than all but six other teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision. They’re running almost three times more often than they’re passing — a 73/27 split that, for now, is the biggest differential in coach Les Miles’ 10 years at the school.

WR drops and blowout wins will always cause RBs to get more activity.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. LSU wins with this style of play.

Of course it aint broke we have not started playing SEC schedule yet.

With (5) SECW teams in the top 10 Running into a 9 man front will brake soon enough.

I don't believe Miles will do this against better talent, so its a moot point.
