I can remember in the 70's we brought enough alcohol in to get not only us drunker ,if possible , but enough to get everybody around us blasted. If someone would have dared search us back then , a full pledged riot would have taken place. You could buy tickets like regular folks, unlike now (TAF), for decent prices . We could drive right up to the stadium ,park anywhere available, tailgate anywhere we could squeeze in , and then peacefully drink ourselves into oblivion. There was no chance we would leave early . We could barely leave 2 hours after the game , due to registering about .30 on the dwi meter. And we had to drive back to Alexandria , & some if not all of those trips were a wonder.The students leave the game now by halftime so they can go get high. Try legalizing pot in Tiger Stadium if you want the students to stay the whole game. Try beating Bama if you want the rest to stay.

You can change the AD, and the president. You could beat Bama 7 times in a row...and nothing would change.
Leaving games early isn't an issue that "winning" can solve...just like having a different offense. None of those things really matter.
Students don't stay...because they don't care.

It’s not this really and it’s not just LSU.
I’m sick and tired of seeing LSU beat up on shite teams. Just like I’m sick of seeing Duke beat down cream puffs early season by 40-50.
Let the shitters play each other. There is zero reason for any Power 5 team to play weak opponents. Why can’t LSU and every other major school have legitimate schedules year in , year out?
I for one get bored as hell while watching LSU play shite , non-conf. Opponents on TV. I turn to other games (Like A&M / Clemson). Now imagine having to walk 3-4 miles to the stadium, watch LSU stomp a shitter then walk 3-4 Miles back to the car and get stuck in traffic.
No thank you. It’s just not worth it. Give me Notre Dame, West Virginia, USC, Ohio State, Oklahoma. Etc and I’ll stay til the very end.

The "schedule" argument is an interesting one.
Everyone wants to win, but they also want to play top 25 games every week.
How is it that Wisconsin with a boring Big 10 schedule, and a boring as hell offense..can keep the student section filled until the 5th quarter of every game? Because their students enjoy going to the games....they want to be there.
Stanford's student section isn't filled because their students could care less about going to the games.
LSU's students used to care about going to the games, and staying until the end.

There is always a bright side........The PMAC will absolutely be rocking this fall.
Tiger Stadium has gotten too big. It's not intimate anymore.
The LSU basketball team will have an opportunity to be in the top 10 most of the year this fall. #willwadeera will be in full force. Jump on the wagon guys and gals it's going to be a fantastic year in the PMAC!!!!!

I watch a ton of college football, not just LSU. This problem is in all of those horrible sub par stomps. I love watching LSU play but I love watching them play the very best. 24-0 at halftime is a snooze fest.
You cannot really compare Wisky either. They top out around 65k. They had 3-4 games last year where attendance was around 40k.

I agree we could schedule better teams for home games but we still need the cupcake wins if we have the kind of conference schedule we have. There is no benefit to scheduling that many tough games just so people stay longer. LSU got their money so they don't care how long you stay.

Back in the '60s, 70's & 80's we went because we loved LSU football! Who cared if we were stomping some inferior team, we stayed, partied and cheered. Look around now...everybody glued to cell phones, texting, etc....they just don't care. Ban cell phones, lol, then when the social media junkies don't show up, sell the tickets cheaper to football fans. Come out ahead!
