Georgia might be out of the top four when rankings come out next.

Assuming no upsets... Ohio State, Oklahoma, fsu, Michigan will be the top four ... Rankings committee representative saying Georgia could come in at 5th in the cfp Tuesday. Weak sos etc. If this is the case, just their loss to us should be enough to keep them out of the top four. And probably don't want them to take another L from Florida etc

CFP loves to make storylines with their first few polls because they know otherwise they don’t matter

If UGA wins out they are in. Ohio State and Michigan have to play each other. Putting them at 5 is a tacit acknowledgement of their SoS and serves as clickbait fodder, but ultimately changes nothing

Saw predictions that had them ranked 5th and 6th in the past week of rankings that come out next week. The committees going to punish them for their SOS so far this year.

The playoff committee isn’t the AP and Coaches poll that takes prior year results into account. A 2-loss lsu would be ranked over a 1-loss UGA if LSU beat them H2H in the only poll that matters

ESPN playoff predictor agrees. 1-loss non-SEC champ UGA 23% chance to make playoffs. 2-loss SEC champ LSU 54% chance to make playoffs.

They haven’t lost to us YET, but I get your thoughts.

Remember in 2019 when LSU fans freaked the hell out every single week because it was such a travesty that LSU wasn't ranked #1. People with a brain tried to calm them down and let them know that if we continued winning then we would finish #1.

Same thing here. The rankings this early don't really mean much at all. It will all play itself out, just like it always does.

Point is they don't probably don't need two losses. This scenario is them not winning out. Them losing to us. The rest of the scenarios for us making the playoffs are very intertwined and difficult

If LSU won out and won the SEC it won’t be UGA that prevents us from making the playoffs though. It’ll be all the P5 champs in other conferences with this whole “SEC is in a down year” narrative

A 2 loss LSU isn't replacing a 1 loss, two time defending champion UGA in the CFP. Our only hope would be from them to have a loss going into the game, which of course would them make our win over them less significant. It is going to take a 2007-on-crack type finish for us to make it.

Kinda weird to hold UGA out for SoS but have Michigan in the top 4. At least with UGA you have the fact they are 2X defending champs. Mich has done nothing when playing top teams. Without looking, their SoS has to be worse than UGAs.

Committee doesn’t care about what UGA did last year. Their argument in that scenario would be why are we rewarding UGA for playing UTM while LSU just beat them in Atlanta for a championship and started the year against a top 4 team in undefeated FSU?

That’s how the committee thinks. Not UGAs fault the OU game they had scheduled to start the year fell through on them, but they’ll be punished for it if they don’t win the SEC

Possibly twice this year. One won't be in the top 4 in the end.

No, they still have division champions this season that will play for the title. Next year they don’t have divisions

Meaning it’s impossible for UM and OSU to play twice unless they have a rematch in the playoffs

Yeah, we beat some good teams toward the end of the season to earn number 1. Alabama was probably the second best team in the country in 19.
Losing to FL State this season was big. If we had beaten them we would be in consideration.
Its a very slim chance for us. We have to beat Alabama. Hope someone beats Ole Miss. Georgia has to win out and lose to us in the Championship. Then hope some teams on the West Coast trip up.

We need lots of help. Like every team with one loss accept Georgia with 0. A few two loss teams of teams ahead of us now. We need at least one conference to totally shite the bed.

They should be, their schedule rank is #94. There are 5 other undefeated teams that have played tougher schedules. Georgia ain't played anybody.

Good news is the 3rd point takes care of the 2nd. I’d be shocked is UGA lost a game during the regular season.

1. The first poll means nothing. Don't forget Miss St and A&M have been ranked 1 before

2. UGA schedule has been dogshit, but they have the toughest schedule left in the SEC. They will earn it.

In this scenario, LSU is 100% going to the playoffs over UGA. The two choices are: LSU is in the playoffs, or no SEC team is making the playoffs.

It's all foolish to worry about right now anyway. So much has to happen, and the most difficult hurdle is probably LSU winning out.

Need the PAC to whoop on each other. Would help for Penn state to beat Mich also. Keep B1G at one playoff team and we may have a shot.
