Read where he was traded from the Kings to Memphis. Honestly, I didnt realize he was still in the league and obviously productive enough for solid trade value.

Good for him..9 years in the NBA is damn strong.

Go Tigers!

He was on a 3 year 24mil contract IIRC. Have a few friends who went to school with him and said he's a great guy. Memphis is better than Sacramento.. but not by much.

Amazing that he has had the longest career of the 2006 Final Four team. This is a tribute to doing the right things an doing things right

LSU Bball has a very low profile presence in the NBA even having gone through some bad years the past decade.

Isn't Darnell Lazare with the Grizz?

And didn't GT play with Lazare for a couple years at LSU? Could be a cool little connection there.

I don't believe Darnell ever made an NBA roster. I believe he did play overseas.

He and Garret were teammates from 2005 to 2007, but Garret redshirted in 2005 due to a hip injury.

Haha no they don't.

There are only 14 colleges that have more current NBA players than LSU in the NBA. We have 5 currently, not including Big Idiot Baby who just finished up, and not including Antonio Blakeney, who has a great shot at making the Bulls this year after having a great season last year in the G League.
We also have the current rookie of the year.

The perception that we have a low profile is pretty stupid.

Great to know, didn't realize he was coaching. He was an intelligent person on and off the court and seemed to have a good perspective on things.

Garret would also be a good coach one day.

Uh with a healthy Conley and Gasol they’re a shite load better than Sacramento. You realize after Conley got hurt (in the first month of the season) the Grizz tanked the season right? That was the first year they’d missed the playoffs since 2009

You could probably ask 1,000 sports fans to name teams with 3 or more NBA players and LSU might make 10 peoples list. That’s the very definition of “under the radar” because as you pointed out, we have produced NBA talent consistently.

I don't think so. My neighbor was their advance scout and he (and the entire player personnel department) were laid off with the new coaching hire.

He was recently in Vegas networking to get a new gig. Rumor is Toronto will open bc their guy is going to Detroit, but he said he'll probably freelance for a few teams this year if he can't get picked up.

Sounds like a tough road to hoe.
