Jay Johnson update on Garrett Edwards: "Through a preliminary evaluation with our trainer -- it was about as positive as it could be. We're hopeful that it's not serious and that we will have him back soon...I'm not a doctor, never gonna pretend to be a doctor. We'll get them further evaluated when we get home." #LSU

That’s great to hear. Hopefully is confirmed with further evaluation.

Great news. When he grabbed that elbow I feared the worst.

Love Jay but I have no confidence that we see Edwards again this year. When do you ever see a pitcher leave that way and they don’t have some sort of major surgery

He also provided a Shores update which did not sound so optimistic….

Certainly hoping for the best, but that did NOT look good.

Yeah I think they know Shores is TJ bound.

He will still probably miss 4-6 weeks. They don't rush these types of things back. They can dry needle it a few times and do some PT and he could throw in 2 weeks probably at best then a few weeks before a bullpen. That's probably best case scenario for a minor injury. Unless he wakes up and it feels totally normal today and he throws and it feels normal.

That’s how I interpreted that as well

I agree with you for the most part. Unless you have a low pain threshold grabbing at an injury is not a good sign. I pray he just needs rest and rehab.

I’d be sick to my stomach if I were Edwards. That elbow grab most likely cost him several hundred grand.

6 weeks is the rest of the regular season. I doubt he'd be as sharp in his 1st game back so it'll be hard to depend on him regardless. Happy that he would be a full go next year though I do think he's draft eligible this season. Not sure where he stands on draft boards

I saw the guys throwing a football around in Columbia. Someone threw it to Shores and he gingerly tossed it back with his left hand. That told me he is done. Take it for what it’s worth.

I also mentioned that Coleman was throwing like he was warming up for a game. Full bullpen with offspeed stuff. Looked great and comfortable. I seent it.

Name how many pitchers you've seen leave that way except for Eric Walker
