paid vs actual
How does the record for "paid attendance" continually get broken if all of these games are sold out? If its a sellout then the "paid attendance" should be whatever the stadium capacity is, right? I just don't understand these numbers

For starters, they oversell the student section. Suites have SRO, and they issue a number of all-access/field passes to guests as well.

stuff like media credentials, recruits, coachs, visiting team on field credentials, VIPs, etc etc.
Do those count toward "actual attendance"?

I read the article, I know Joe Alleva said it, and I understand the difference between paid vs actual.
However, I'm calling bullshite on the never breaking 90K. Somebody or something somewhere screwed up on that. Whether it was a user error or a device error. No way in hell UGA 2003, Florida 2007, Bama 2008, or Virginia Tech 2007 didn't break 90k. Not buying it. Again, I know what the article said in the link.

Dude, do you know how many people bring kids who sit in their laps? or who show their ticket but doesn't get scanned? Or people who straight sneak in the stadium through an act of God?
There's been over 90,000.
There's been over 90,000.

Most stadium attendances include the bands and personnel working the game. I doubt they scan these people.

Kids require a ticket. Again, I didn't write the freaking article. I don't know why Alleva would quote these numbers if it wasn't true.

look closely during the games. There was a TON of empty seats even for south carolina. WTF is up with the northeast endzone area? ALWAYS a ton of seats empty. Also the top of the uppers always have huge holes

I think the point of the OP was to cause a stir about a fact most people will deny and make himself sound intelligent cause there will obviously be more than 90,000 people in tiger stadium on 11/3.... with that being said the 89,800 or whatever it was most likely didn't count the band, and plus theres all the media, SRO, Stadium Club, and the recruits that Idk if that stuff was accounted for. But if your point was to say that there were about 2,000 people who paid for seats and didn't show? Then I suppose you are correct

That's why you'll never hear me complain about getting up on my feet and yelling. Sitting on my row can be miserable sometimes.

Every person who you see on the field, has a media pass, or a guest pass doesn't get scanned and counted. A lot of times the people in suites don't get scanned either. There are easily 5000 people each game not counted that should be.
