Although not the case much lately, I think Laird's potential to hit is at least good enough for a spot in the outfield because he is so strong out there defensively.

agreed, i just want to see it for a game

Glenn really pitched well and has really solidified the backend of our rotation

our pitching has been so damn good, we can sacrifice a little speed in the outfield for offense

We can bitch bout the lack of runs, but if Ibarra's shot back to the pitcher goes thru, we're in the middle of big inning potentially. And if he does not hold his glove just so, the ball gets thru & we have a run in & runners at the corners.Bregman & Jones both hit shots to the warning track that probably been HR's if not for the heavy weather. It's called the luck of the baseball gods. Now, Ross is hitting in a potentially run producing position & he's in another slump that has lasted all season for the most part. Their ace beat our Sunday starter, only by one run & that run was unearned. Shite happens over the course of a difficult SEC season.

rain looks to not be just sitting, looks like its moving east pretty well, and there's no definitive bands behind it, i think we'll get it in tonight

Nola is gonna make these little bitches bow down and kiss the ring.

I don't hate Mainieri at all. But you are missing the point. If we get rained out from our last two games, it's dumb to leave your best two pitchers on the bench.

except that we are playing for the postseason at this point. No reason to mess up our rotation because of a fear of rain

FWIW it's a new feeling this season losing the first game. Kind of like, IMHO, we have a little something to prove in the final two games. I think we beat the snot out of them both games.

the post-season (regional) rotation will be Glenn-Nola-Eades just like this week and last and next

That is what I was saying.

Also, you don't mess with Nola's mojo right now and throw him on 1 less days rest. He's been too great to change that at this point

Oh,no...it's much more important that we put our best pitcher, who has thrown four consecutive complete games, in to pitch with one less day's rest in a game that looked likely to get called due to rain after a few innings thereby spoiling him for the entire weekend!

Don't you understand that???
