You’re comparing Iowa and Syracuse to Troy?

No one is trying to "justify" losing to Troy. Obviously, that's a game we should win, and would win at least nine times out of ten. At the same time, however, it's just lazy thinking to lump all non-Power Five teams together in an undifferentiated way. Today, on a neutral field, I would only take four of our other opponents (Mississippi State, Auburn, Alabama, and Texas A&M) as clear favorites over Troy. They are one of the better Group of Five programs this year--that's why they were able to take advantage of a sloppy, uninspired LSU performance to eek out a win.

Why were they sloppy and uninspired?

Coach O couldn't keep his team focused 5 weeks into the season?

Galloway is a little idiot, he just insulted and down played Troy is all he did, and Troy is a small school that has given not only LSU, but lots of big schools fits of rage. They would have done the same to idiot Galloway's Ohio State, but LSU has always taken schools like this lightly when playing them, and then wakes up in time to steal the win. This time they couldn't and that should teach them something, but Troy had a great season and really should have only had one loss. They were spent after the huge upset to LSU and got upset themselves.

Ohio State got beat by 31 to an unranked Iowa team, I bet on a neutral field Troy beats Iowa.

I think the argument can be made for this.
The point is, even very good teams can lose to what whould be considered a far inferior team. Given where LSU was “at” in its development, the loss to a pretty good Troy should maybe be a little more palatable for LSU fans

no it wasn't. that's the point. not nearly as bad as it seemed at the time

try? it was justifiable in itself. patchwork o line. new coordinator. guice hurt. it happens. lsu recovered nicely. these things happen. even bama needed help to get in the playoff because they didn't take care of business. am i happy about it? hell no. but i like the trend since

Galloway is a douchey blowhard with a very punchable face. Regardless of what he said about LSU

They were all talking about how this team/that team was a "different team" when they played earlier/etc, and he mentioned Bama potentially being a "different team" with healthy LBs in the playoffs, but I guess LSU couldn't be a "different team" when they played Troy because that would've defeated the point and went against the narrative of that particular conversation.. Just saying.. Since they were "splitting hairs" no one mentioned that during the "splitting" process..

This is what makes his point moot.

It was Orgerons fault for doing exactly what he said he wouldn’t— meddling in the offense

so he gets the blame for troy but not the credit for turning things around. just needed to understand how to feel about him. thanks

He's butt hurt because OSU finally didn't get every benefit of the doubt in a playoff selection. 31-0
