Kevin Faulk a big no

Yeah, the HOF tends to be a wee bit biased in favor of starting running backs. Those crazy bastards. It's not a on knock Faulk, he's one of my all time favorites. But come on.

Not even a remote possibility.

Bert Jones ?

Almost definitely not. Bert had a hell of a career, but there are a lot of quarterbacks, including many of his contemporaries (Ken Anderson, Jaworski, Stabler etc.) with similar or better creds that will probably never be inducted. HOF quarterbacks make up a very elite club that's harder than ever to get in since passing numbers have gone off the charts in recent years.

I agree with the general sentiment of Mawae and Faneca. I don't think anyone else is even close.

I would hope so.

Damn few, especially offensive linemen, are locks for the NFL HoF. For example, Jay Hilgenberg, the center for the 85 Bears, was a 7 consecutive year pro-bowler and All-pro, and he really hasn't sniffed the Hof. In Mawae's favor is longevity and big market exposure. Against him is never winning a Super Bowl. Faneca has both longevity and a Super Bowl, but played in a small market for almost all of his career. Being in NY now is a plus though. While deserving, neither is a lock, but at this point they are the only LSU guys with more than an ice cube's chance in hell of making it.

I'm kind of ashamed to admit I didn't know anything about him until your post prompted me to do a little research. Excellent call. AFL All-Time team, 58 interceptions and 2 Superbowls? He's more than deserving based on that.

Anybody know if there's some kind of off the field issue involved here or has Robinson just fallen through the cracks?

I think he's a pastor who runs a children's home Monroe. He's never been in any trouble as far as I know. His father was Dub Robinson, the legendary LSU tennis coach.

LINK to HOF inductees by their colleges.

Congrats to Fred Dean for La Tech. A great guy and a great athlete.

Don't count Jamarcus out. If Oakland gets a couple of receivers and a decent left tackle...or...if JR gets traded!

Hey...based on his unreal career...doesn't the former Destrahan star Ed Reed deserve the hall??? Too bad the Tigahs didn't land that guy. What a talent!

It's probably gonna take more than that.

I think Fanaca will make it, and probably Mawae, too. I also think Corey Webster and Laron Landry will have long and successful careers. Unfortunately, at their positions, they will have to do an awful lot to get to Canton. If anyone of our recent grads has a shot, my money is on those two, with Corey in the lead.
