You really can't bitch about those fans ( you are not, I know). Every major prospect that leaves LA is treated to the same sorry-assed shite from the idiots.

'LSU coach Les Miles empathized with Garrett, but he admitted he had never recruited the son of an alumni president of a rival school.

'He asked me to contribute," Miles cracked this week. "I told him I couldn't -- not in good conscious.'" (sic)

Damn, Guilbeau.

I wish every fan in Tiger Stadium and on this site would read that article and think hard about it. Just maybe it would change some of the reactions toward Jarrett Lee and some of the other Tigers.

I can understand, but what Moo State fans need to be upset about is their school hasn't done enough to compete and, the fact is, they get him if they upgrade their program to be competitive. If you can't land a homer, then it screams "Upgrade Please" or you will continue to feed off the second and third tier players and lose the best Miss players elsewhere. My advice would be to spend energy complaining and organizing efforts to get the AD to upgrade rather than bashing a kid for seeing a better opportunity without letting his bias get in the way. This says Garrett has character and substance to make a tough decision like that at his age.

Apparently, he relies on his trusty Word spell check to do the trick.

Why on Earth would the family of a recruit browse chat rooms and blogs? Are they that dumb to think there wont be a high percentage of negativity on those sites?

And the father says there are people who wont talk to him to his face...

..well congratulations sir...you just made it alot easier to scratch those people off of your "good friends list"!!

"everything we've been through sure will make it a little easier to put on purple and gold."

LSU fans should think of this quote next time they give hell to an in-state recruit whs is considering/choosing an OOS committment.

IDK what it is about people that think just because a kid grows up in their state, they own him, ridiculous, btw, nice pose in the pic he looks like a gunslinger.

Ill second what Sid said. Those fans blew ANY chance of Garret(sp) changeing his mind. Fans should realise that. Welcome to LSU As for Jarret Lee I hold NOTHING against him. He choose LSU because he thought that would be best for him. It still might, its just that a scrambling QB has a better shot of comming in and playing early .You dont teach the ability to scramble, and Ill support any kid that selects LSU.

Amen that he looks like a gunslinger. Nothing wrong with a big, dropback quarterback in the midst of the "running" quarterbacks.

I really like Jarrett Lee, he is a good kid. I
really hate he had so many picks last season.
It had to be really hard on him mentally.
But if you remember Jimbo was he one who recruited Jarrett. Nothing against Crowton but do
you think Jarrett would have had a better year
if Jimbo had been his OC and QB Coach.

I don't like all the negative posting about Lee either, but come on, this love & hate goes on at every school & in every state, we are not the only fan base to do this. We are always going to have some really 'bad' fans just like every other school. This is just a way of life with sports fans, but in this case, we try to be united because we are all LSU fans. But to think we are going to have an absence of negative posting is as riduclious as believing in 'World Peace'...it will never happen!!

Reading the comments following the article looks like this glaring error was noticed by others as well.

No. This wasn't an issue of coaching, it was NO experience at the CFB level, the highest of which is the SEC.

Should Bammer's starting QB get hurt next year (and I'm not wishing for that) where they have to bring in a guy with ZERO SEC experience, let's see how he performs.
