Why in the hell are we playing Auburn at 9 PM CT in Baton Rouge?
It’s at Auburn.

they didn’t sign anyone noteworthy
we shall see. DJ Thomas was a fairly highly ranked young and experienced PG.
already had some talent up front and added a solid starter from MS st. with a quality PG and some hefty bigs I don't see why they wont be decent this year.

the claim that the team under-performed due to being underfunded seems perfectly credible. having more money for players can often mean better teams, and it appears that the team was underfunded relative to rivals.
This has been discussed many times on here, but the timing of that "revelation" last season made that claim very questionable. If LSU was significantly underfunded relative to all of the other SEC programs, then that reality would have been known WELL before the season ever started because all of the money to sign players for last season would have been "spent" before the season. It's not like Auburn, Florida, Alabama, etc were signing high-priced free agents during the season.
Yet, there wasn't a hint of that discussion until LSU was 2-10 in SEC play getting ready to take on the only team worse than them (South Carolian) who, "coincidentally" was the only program who, allegedly, spent less than LSU. This, despite the fact SC was coming off their best regular season in decades and had just given their HC a raise (but evidently didn't want to pay the players?) Kind of like the revelation of a certain player's "injury" in another sport in the wake of a coach's blowup in response to a question about the shitty play, the timing of the excuse seemed awfully convenient.
But even assuming LSU was low on the spending chart, the results of the offseason don't necessarily reflect a program that massively increased its spending relative to its SEC rivals. LSU's overall recruiting ranking (HS signees + transfers) was 32. The year before the ranking was 16. The year before that was 47. And the prior year (MM's first) the ranking was 17.
If you attribute any stock to the ranking services, then MM has done a decent job, or at least on par with the middle of the SEC, in recruiting. Both HS and the transfer market. Yet, the results haven't been there. Compare that with Florida, whose recruiting classes have rarely ranked terribly high over the last 3 seasons. One coach, who was hired at the EXACT same time will be watching a NC banner drop in the opening game this year. The other will be watching stale hot dogs drop from the rafters to a crowd of 2,500 people (maybe)
Every season there has been some sort of excuse to latch on to as to why the program has been the worst in the SEC. But maybe the answer is just as simple as LSU has the worst HC in the league?

Calling it “questionable” is being very generous. You’re too nice to people who do not return your good nature.

when would you like it released?

I don't see how you know that.

seems like you are just making things up. you don't know, for example what was the market value of these players.

also seems possible he was underfunded, which would be a disadvantage. we will see.

The thing about excuses is they’re bullet proof. You can’t debunk an excuse because it’s not real.

OC schedule is horrible
Posted on 10/7/25 at 5:53 pm to Allthatfades
Just like baseball non conference schedule. A lot of weak teams

That home schedule is awesome. Can’t wait for UNO and Alcorn State.

For whatever reason Cal struggles with McMahon lol so Arkansas

Last three years we've beaten Arky at home, and lost to them on the road. S. Carolina at home may be promising

I’m excited to see what all this extra spending will do but I can’t see us finishing in the top 12 of the league.
