Maybe we’re just a team of destiny this year!

Baseball, while requiring skill and talent, also requires a little bit of the baseball gods smiling upon you, i.e., luck.

When it comes to that, Dave Van Horn is ultimately the little man with the rain cloud constantly over his head. In short, he’s not lucky. Certainly not when it counts the most. The baseball gods don’t like him.

We have had many devastating losses like that in football to Bama.

It was a brain fart but not sure the DP was a lock

Not being mentioned but arky was only in a position to win due to some flukey shite on our end, Dickinson may be happier than anyone we came back and won

It's one thing to not win in football. That's sort of expected. You get a magic season every now and then but no ones expecting national titles from Ar-Kansas in football.

But to watch Ole Miss and Miss St and Vandy and South Carolina all win national titles while they keep going to Omaha and not winning it has to be brutal. At least not as bad as FSU and UNC, but Ar-Kansas fans care a hell of a lot more about baseball than those fanbases and to watch all these other similar schools in the SEC win it all has to hurt.

I wouldn't be upset at Ar-Kansas winning it in baseball, as long as it's not at the expense of LSU. Hell I want them to win one. They deserve it. You look at attendance every year for the last 30 years and if it's not LSU at the top, it's Ar-Kansas.

Neither was the trio of AR players a few years ago in foul territory just past 1B that any of the 3 could have made the pop up easy catch to win the game yet they couldn't decide who would catch it leading to no catch and losing the game. That wasn't on DVH, either.

Arkansas is a track school. LSU has almost double the wins in series vs Arkansas in Football & Baseball.

True, but if DVH’s anxiety is making his team tight then it is on him.

But there's a difference.

The ball glancing off the 2B slow enough to score Hernandez - that's bad luck.

Wake Forest trying to bunt and it going to the exact spot that allowed Morgan to make the perfect play - that's bad luck.

Aloy not going for the DP is not bad luck.
Getting Oregon State to foul out to lose the NC series and not making the play is not bad luck.

It's crazy that Arkansas has had good luck opportunities (both the DP grounder and the pop foul by OSU) and just didn't take them.

This is my lot in life with respect to my favorite high school teams. It's my alma mater.

Every now and then we get some of the best athletes we've ever had and can compete for a state championship, but you can book it that whenever that happens, some other team is also loaded with its best players and theirs are just a bit better than ours.
