Yes, that was discussed. LSU, and only LSU, would have a case for a rematch. The punditry agreed that Bama would not get a rematch bc it was a home game. Yet immediately after the game, I started hearing about a rematch
That's because the idea of them losing to LSU at home was not in their mindset...it wasn't suppose to happen..no way could LSU come in Tuscaloser and beat Bama 2 years in a row...and after we won...well..they changed their minds..now they want a rematch...what will they want if we beat them 2 times in one season...play during the summer until they win one....

That's the sentiment of Bama fans I've discussed the topic with.
Of course, they're educated, too.

Nobody thought that Oregon, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Stanford would all piss in the bath water.

but it just doesn't seem like there is much separation b/w LSU and BAMA
Probably not, but Bama is basing its status on a close loss to LSU. LSU earned its respect with its schedule, and Bama is piggybacking on that since its own resume is mediocre. Wins are never mentioned by gumps, only their great loss on 11/5.
Granted, it isnt Bama's fault that PennSt sucks, but it is what it is.

Makes way too much sense, and way to articulate/level headed....
Obvious alter is obvious.....
j/k....
Well put, and good luck.

True, although two of those teams still have the same record as Bama.

Problem is that if Bama had won at LSU by the same score none of those talking heads on ESPN, who several went to Alabama, would be promoting a rematch. They would be talking about the fact that Bama going into Baton Rouge and winning showed just how much better Bama is than everyone else in the country and how much better they are than LSU. No one would be saying LSU should have won or was the better team and just didn't play well on that day. It would not be anywhere near the same conversation.

If we play Bama again and Bama wins, do we get a rematch for best out of three in Baton Rouge? Or does it just make sense to let Bama hoist the trophy.

I didn't know any existed. You should be on the endangered species list because you are definitely a rare breed of Bama fan.

LSU was being discussed because it would have been a close "road" loss versus losing in your own backyard. Home losses= penalized more . That was the contention. Not sure I would have agreed with it, but that was the basis
The early discussion about a rematch if LSU lost a close game at Bama was a discussion of a 1 loss LSU vs. undefeated teams in other conferences. Bama got no consideration. I think even an undefeated Boise State team might have slipped in front given their win over Georgia. But every FBS team lost except for Houston who has played no one. Their best opponent will probably be Southern Miss (who lost to UAB).

Oklahoma State's coach said to a reporter today that he doesn't have a vote in the coaches poll but if he did, he would vote Bama #2, Oklahoma State #3. 3 or 4 weeks ago, Les Miles said he would be honored to play Bama again in the NC game. So why are so many LSU fans in an uproar?

It's called an opinion and everyone has one. How about we just go ahead and make it a best of seven series for Alabama? That way, after multiple beat downs by LSU, UA will have no choice but to admit LSU is better. Ha!!! What am I saying????

That because he is currently 5 in the coaches poll. He knows if he moves up to 3 in both Harris and coaches with better computer rankings he will get in the bcscg

This week, maybe. His team has to beat OK.

So? That statement means nothing. He'll say he is honored to play whatever team is there.

I think that there will be a rematch because everyone in the country knows that LSU and BAMA are CLEARLY the 2 best teams in the nation!! Do we as LSU fans want to see a rematch, hell no!! Are we intimidated by BAMA? Nope, we just feel like we went to T-Town and beat y'all at home. We all know that we dodged a bullet, but the fact is is that WE WON! I don't know a single LSU fan that actually WANTS to see a rematch, but it seems like it's pretty inevitable.
