How many of you wanted Nuss over Daniels 3 years ago? I’ll eat all the fricking down votes I don’t care.
Yes I’m happy Nuss is coming back. Yes I’m rooting for him to succeed. I will pull for him 1000000%. Yes I think Nuss is a stud and can lead us to the playoffs.
But in 2022 many on this board called for JD to be benched for whatever reason. Eat your crow. He wasn’t the problem.

I mean he wasn’t exactly showing the greatest potential in 2022. Nobody can honestly say they saw this coming

Agreed 100%. But with our OL situation at that point that kid gave us the best chance to win.

Have you really not moved on from this utterly meaningless shite?
Damn man. Let it go.

LSU fans are not unique, versus other college football fan bases, in that they have a large percentage of people that believe the backup quarterback is better. It's not even worth mentioning at this point

He wasn’t the problem.

The light did not turn on for JD until late in 2022. He held on to the ball way too long to avoid interceptions. Once he started letting it rip, he improved dramatically and carried this into 2023.

Jayden had all the tools in 2022 but continued to show flaws he showed throughout his first 3 years at ASU. He hadn’t developed the long ball, and ran too quickly too often. He was risk averse and that limited him.
I think most people believed he had the potential, but given 4 years of film, felt if he was going to make the jump he would have already. This, they thought to the future and Nuss.
Reality was that JD finally trusted himself and took those shots, pulling the trigger finally and we saw what happened in 2023.
It’s not ridiculous for people to think JD may not reach his potential seeing as he had started for 4 years and played like he had. He hadn’t shown significant change from his freshman season for someone that had started 3 years.
