That’s a fricking stupid argument

Dave Aranda came to LSU. So did John Chavis.

So did a bunch of other good coaches.

He’s a Midwestern guy with an opportunity to take an equally high profile job in the Midwest in a more stable coaching environment.

I’m surprised anyone is surprised by this

Haha. These coaching searches are hilarious. We almost never get who everyone wants or who people think is coming here (sometimes for the good of the program and sometimes not). I was very impressed with Freeman's D though at Cincy. Great team tackling and sound.

Seems like a waste at ND as they have an offense with 40 tight ends that has little shot of beating the Bamas, Ohio States and Clemsons of the world. Their defense was already pretty good. That ain't the problem.

It worked out pretty good for Joe Brady and Dave Aranda.

Aranda wasn't Os hire.

So far just Brady is Os tree and I'd hardly call him a limb from it.

Right. It doesn't matter though, they both coached at LSU under Orgeron, both experienced a national championship season and both have gone on to bigger things. It worked out for them.

Many reasons why a coach decides whether to accept or decline....only Freeman knows and it is not necessarily an indictment on LSU. And if he had to be coerced into coming to LSU...then he was not the one.....next.

Still salty about getting mud stomped by LSU 13 years ago.

Easy there, buddy. We might not have a Ruth's Chris here, but there's a Cheesecake Factory by the mall.

Have you ever been to South Bend? Once you walk off the ND campus it turns into crack head central

You obviously haven't been in a while. The city is on the up and up. Downtown actually has a bunch of nice little restaurants, bars, and breweries now. The River Lights are gorgeous and now there is starting to be more development around them. All those old industrial buildings are being repurposed, leading to a lot of new businesses.

The area right off campus is nice now too. To the east are a bunch of new apartment and townhouse complexes while the Eddy Street development to the immediate south of campus has a great little college town vibe.

Plus, odds are he won't be living in South Bend. From my experience, basically all the coaches live in the communities a couple miles northeast of campus. For about $1m, you can get a great house on a couple of acres and its a probably 20 minute commute to campus.
