Technically Lane would have to pay that amount to Ole Miss, but generally contracts with the new school involve them paying the buyout the coach owes to the old school.

I wish they would whack these threads about Jeff Leonhard! He is not coming to LSU under any circumstances . Well maybe under the condition of head coach. But even that is doubtful. There have been so many threads about him and always they end with:
1. He is an alumni of the University of Wisconsin.
2. He has a lot of money from playing football and coaching football at the NFL.
3. He is already making 1 million a year.
4. His love and more importantly his Wife’s love, for Wisconsin far exceeds his love for anywhere else in this world.
I would like to add to this that people that live in Madison really, really love Madison.
If Leonhard is going anywhere else in the college game, its as a head coach.

1 Zach Arnett
That was who ND fans were talking about when we thought we lost Freeman. Also Brad White at Kentucky and Jon Heacock at Iowa State.
I don't know about White, but Arnett and Heacock run a 3-3-5 which I think might be the move to counter these crazy passing offenses.
Of course, you guys have a bit more experience with those high flying offenses, so maybe that could help decide what the best way is to stop it.
Earlier in the process, ND fans also heard that we were talking with Mike Elko. I don't know how true it is, but apparently he wasn't in love with A&M. I don't know what it was exactly he didn't like, but if its something specific to his time at A&M, maybe he would be an option too.

Have you ever been to South Bend? Once you walk off the ND campus it turns into crack head central
You obviously haven't been in a while. The city is on the up and up. Downtown actually has a bunch of nice little restaurants, bars, and breweries now. The River Lights are gorgeous and now there is starting to be more development around them. All those old industrial buildings are being repurposed, leading to a lot of new businesses.
The area right off campus is nice now too. To the east are a bunch of new apartment and townhouse complexes while the Eddy Street development to the immediate south of campus has a great little college town vibe.
Plus, odds are he won't be living in South Bend. From my experience, basically all the coaches live in the communities a couple miles northeast of campus. For about $1m, you can get a great house on a couple of acres and its a probably 20 minute commute to campus.
