I don't remember much bashing. I thought Freak and Ego both needed improvement and another year would help, but fully understand an NFL paycheck.

I'm not bashing the guy, but I made it a point to not have kids until I was financially able to. How hard is it to pull out or wear a condom? I'm tired of people using kids as an excuse for everything.

Solid player, not as good as guys before him, will still get drafted.

NFL scouts already take that into account when projecting these guys in the draft so any bump, if at all, would have been negligible. Actually could have come back and hurt his drafts status as likely as helping it.

There is a show called "Numbers Never Lie" the percentages say it would have been better for him to come back and try to have a stellar senior season.

I don't think I saw anyone bashing Freak for declaring for the Draft. If it's his time to go and he feels it's the right decision, no argument here. That's his choice, and he's the guy who has the right to make that choice.

But as fans we have the right to look at his body I work and judge for ourselves whether we believe his level of play was up to his potential or up to the level we expect from an LSU starting defensive tackle. Freak went out there and tried hard, and we all realize his position is not easy to play , especially when you're double teamed all the time. But let's make no mistake here. He was a good defensive tackle, but he will not make the list of LSU greats who excelled at the position. We have seen everything he will ever do in an LSU uniform, and the judgement is clear. He was an ordinary player at LSU. Could he have been more? Don't know. We will find out on Sundays. Best of luck to him, but I see no need to truly miss him. The next guy in line is probably no better or worse than him at LSU.

Saw him in the NO Airport on the 7th. We were both headed to Houston so we chatted a bit. Said he was going meet with the Texans. I told him thanks for his time with Tigers and wished him the best.

Cool dude if you ask me. Was he all-SEC? No but he was proud to wear the purple and gold and as far as I know, stayed out of trouble. IMO, he doesn't deserve to be bashed.

What is all this crap about bashing Freak, I haven't seen any threads about bashing Freak or any other player that has declared for the draft! People need to chill. No one is bashing Freak so we don't need any threads stating it that is for sure.

You do realize that he was bashed for his play on the field, not his decision about going pro

Nah this is the Rant, where questioning a decision is bashing. It has always been that way, question a call by Miles, well you are bashing him and the team, question a player well you are bashing him and attacking.

Freak is obviously at his ceiling. He was a good SEC D tackle and will find a spot on a roster. Our expectation was Nick Fairley, so his perceived mediocrity is probably due to expectations thru the roof.

Needs a vehicle that's roomy enough for his daughter in the projects.

Makes perfect economic sense to me.
