Exactly. The issue is when a black girl does it, suddenly it’s unacceptable and she’s classless. This stuff happens all the time in women’s basketball. But Reese is too much for them??!! Same thing with Allen Iverson. Many players played with the same edge as he did and lived a similar life….but he was a thug! I hope this opens the eyes for those naive people who don’t think race plays a part…. If you’re a black athlete and fit the narrative…then you’re fine. But God help you if you have any kind of edge to you…then suddenly you’re ghetto, arrogant, classless and etc

I think you’re missing the point. I’m 100% a Kim Mulkey fan. After winning the natty is not the time to be taunting/trash talking your opponent. You have to be above that. You’re the top dog, be humble and act like it. Can you imagine Mahomes or Kelce going on the field and taunting/trash taking San Fran players in the celebration.

You’re using those two classless individuals as your standard? If you wanna get into the “gesture” argument plenty of people will correct you without me having to do it. My point is the media hates Mulkey and is using Angel to smear her team. Had anyone else done that the media would be leading the charge to shut down anyone saying anything about it. Imaging Don Staley or one of her players doing it, you think they’d be getting hammered by media?

Not a double standard. Getting in her face and calling her a "ho" while doing the gesture is a couple levels above doing it to no one in particular after a 3 pointer. It's a bad look, but not the end of the world. Reese should have said it was the heat of the moment, but instead she seemingly played the race card when asked about it, which, to me, is taking the easy way out.

They sound like basketball fan versions of the never Trumpers, literally rather support the other side than enjoy the moment and be happy for our ladies.
Oh, well, their beloved Caitlyn will be back next year and they can root for her again then, maybe they can cheer her on to a championship victory over us if things line up for them.
Here's the bottom line: we whipped Iowa's arse by shooting the nets out, especially when it mattered most, playing intense defense, and pounding the glass.
Iowa didn't lose because of the refs, they didn't lose because Angel caught up with Clark and gave her some grief, and they didn't lose because Kim's toes kept going over the line. They lost because we beat them, and I will not discount or criticize the manner in which they did it.
I for one am proud of them.

This is dumb. No one's questioning who the better team was or cheering for Iowa.
Calling the girl a ho and chasing her down after the game was won was a bad look.
It's like people don't have the mental capacity to understand that you don't have to support very single thing people say or do just because the wear a certain color uniform and disagreeing with something someone does doesn't mean you hate that person.
Less intellgent people seem to see everything as black or white / all or nothing and can't process nuance.

its ok for some but not for others? I can understand why she would think it’s because of race. The whole thing is silly drama egged on by the media. Caitlyn wasn’t bothered by it, she’s done her share of trash talking too.
