The histrionics over a peaceful protest by some is absurd.

so everything he represents in life is solely limited to whether or not he stands for the national anthem?

He didn’t kneel and followed the policy. I don’t like the whole flag protest thing, but damn the guy adhered to the guidance given by the league.
I gotta see more before I put him in the same class as former Tiger Eric Reid.

Having players out for the national anthem is stupid to begin with. I'm not at the stadium to see football players be patriotic. I'm there to see them play football. This wouldn't be as big of an issue if our oh so make america great again president would have kept his mouth shut on this issue. The president speaking out against peoples freedom of speech is just laughable.

Of course they are exceptions, terrible shite happens sometimes. Now you know damn near everyone of the killings happens because someone was breaking the law, running from the police, or fighting with the police. If don't put yourself in those situations your chances of getting shot by the police just dropped to damn near 0 %.

If I were in his spot a few minutes before the beginning of a football game, preseason or not, I'd be concentrating on getting ready to play, not what music is playing on the PA.
He might have been getting taped up, or talking with a coach, or any number of things. Nobody here knows.

Would be nice. But even something as passive as sitting in a locker room before a game sets off the cuckservative snowflakes. Pretty incredible.

So, according to you, there is no truth, only excuses. This is the definition of black nationalist ignorance. The truth is that a person is who he/she chooses to be and not who others define them to be. I do not confine my self awareness of who and what I am to my skin-tone. The truth of life is that I am more than that. If you want to live your life in the solitary confinement of the skin-tone cell, that is your choice. These protest project that viewpoint and encourage others to live in their own skin-tone solitary confinement cells.

this article puts a new spin on the inability to articulate the protest.
It’s now PERSONAL and POWERFUL. More now than ever because the protesters can’t articulate their viewpoint in a logical, factual, rational manner.
Well that’s because this movement isn’t based in reality.
I suppose picking a few isolated incidents to make a larger point could be effective if there were a larger point to be made.
That’s the problem. Fans at least would like to know what you are protesting. Not some vague reference to social injustice, racial inequality, discrimination.
Most people don’t think this stuff exist and any problems within a community are self inflicted and not systematic.
Again, sure kneel. Stay in the locker room. Support your fellow man.
Explain why.
Back the “why” up with facts.
Articulate your position and answer questions intelligently.
That would help.

You keep projecting what you believe onto other people. America means lots of different things to lots of different people and its still the truth to them because thats what they experienced.
This really isnt difficult.

Man, read what you just wrote in response to him.... ironic
He has his truth, not unlike you or any of those players.
It’s not that difficult.
ETA- if this protest was about the pursuit of truth, the protestors could articulate in an intelligent fashion a coherent argument and then answer questions that challenge the narrative
This isn’t about truth

Good for him. He's making a difference in the community. You'll see a decrease in violent crime and murder not only in Jacksonville, but also in the lower 9th Ward. Every time a player kneels, a gun is put down and a minority child is fed and educated.

Fournette proly can't even articulate why he's staying in the locker room...
Is that statement saying he is not intelligent enough to articulate why? Or that he doesn't know why? As an aside, I bet he can properly use and spell the word probably, if you are referring to his intellect.
If you believe African Americans are unintelligent and inarticulate, that is a time honored position for many in America. Far too many. But that is based on the colonialism mindset.
If you believe Leonard does not know or has not experienced racism and thus cannot articulate his opposition to it, then you do not understand living as an African American in America. Nor can you decipher what the American novelist and social critic James Baldwin meant when he said "To be a negro in this country and to be relatively conscious is to be in a rage almost all the time.”
Many critics of African American complaints against racism in its many forms are devoid of empathy. Which is the ability to understand and share another person's feelings, having not experienced it yourself. There are far too many on here who have no empathy toward the complaints of African Americans, despite overwhelming historical evidence and contemporary video and statistical evidence that support the African American complaints. The question becomes, why is that? The obvious answer would be that they are racists and actually encourage maltreatment of African Americans.
There was a Jim Crow policy that there was no right of a black person that a white person had to respect. I believe that policy, unfortunately, has survived the Jim Crow era for far too many.
The responses to this post will be far too predictable. People tend to fall into one of three categories. I will respond and identify the clearly identifiable categories. If one has had any concern or observation about the matter, it will be easily discernible which category applies. Unfortunately the up or down vote only allows two categories. This being Louisiana, I predict an 80 -20 or bigger split. If you are relatively conscious you know on which side the 80% will fall.

I quit watching all NFL games last year. This will make it 2 in a row. The players have the right to kneel and stay in the locker room. I have the right to disagree strongly with their actions. If this movement extends to the college level, I will give them up to.

It's not as fckn simple as you would try to justify it to be. What about the many who didn't break the law? The 12 year old in the park with a toy gun, the guy shopping in Walmart with a Walmart pellet gun, Castille with the concealed weapon permit, the kid in California in his grandmother's back year, the kid in Dallas leaving a party.

Poster child for category number 1.
Please define what you mean by black nationalist. What is truth for you on the subject?
