We're entering that middle stretch of the schedule, and it looks increasingly formidable. I know everyone is focused on Alabama, but look at October for the Tigers:

Oct.5: Utah State
Oct.12: Florida
Oct.19: @ Miss State
Oct.26: Auburn

That appears to be really challenging, given the defensive woes. Preseason is over.

By contrast, Alabama is confronted with the following:

Oct.5: Ole Miss
Oct.12: @ A&M
Oct.19: Tennessee
Oct.26: Arkansas

The disparity is unreal. Only the Aggies are capable of competing vs the Tide, and probably for no more than a half.

Will LSU vs Alabama on Nov. 9 still be relevant? Are we asking too much from Joe Burrow?

Not sure... But if Vandy can score 24 points on offense, I'm positive Bama could hang 40+ on us.

Florida is looking like a tougher game now. Marshall will probably be out, Jefferson is banged up, and our defense is soft on the back end.

Super Burrow can hang 47+ on Bama and we'll win in a shootout.

As strange as it is to say, Utah State is better than both Tennessee and Arkansas.

They've beat Stonybrook and San Diego State, lost to Wake. I'll still take an SEC win over a mountain west win

Wake Forest is much better than both Tennessee and Arkansas also. And they lost by 3 points.

And if we continue to not get pressure up front a first round QB will pick us apart and we’ll be in yet another shootout

Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee have losses to San Jose, Georgia St, BYU, and Memphis between them. A&M has also done nothing of note this year sitting at 2-2.

Florida and Auburn are top ten and undefeated, and Utah St was a bowl team last year and likely will be this year. Miss St is also better than 3 out of 4 of those teams at the moment (State and A&M is a toss up)

Oct.26: Auburn

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I think Auburn looks legit this season.

Anyone not thinking about this game? I think Auburn poses more of a challenge than Florida.

Bama has an easier schedule by virtue of OOC and permanent East opponent. We play the exact same SEC west opponents except each other over the last 8 games. The only difference is the SEC East opponent, we each play our permanent opponent and the OOC opponent. Only one of those is controllable.

Tennessee is a weak SEC east team, but that wasn’t the case when the SEC went from 2 permanent cross divisional opponents to 1 in 2003.

How about LSU tighten up the defense and tackling then just win out.

Auburn has looked impressive all season, in every phase of the game. And, like Trask of Florida and Miss St's Schrader, Bo Nix is a young QB who's improving with each game. That's a tough stretch coming up. Thankfully the roughest games are in Tiger Stadium

This spin would normally have merit, except that Utah State may actually be better that Ole Myth, Argh kansas, and Winlesssee.
