Ferguson (6'5/223) comes equipped with an NFL-ready frame and is fresh off a slick 2018 campaign in which he registered a 66-1117-13 receiving line while averaging 16.9 yards per reception. He is going to have to satisfactorily answer some questions from pro teams if he is to receive legitimate draft interest, as he was indefinitely suspended from LSU in the fall of 2016 due to a reported failed drug test, a suspension which eventually led to his Northwestern State transfer. Ferguson will look to claw his way into the Day 3 mix come the spring.

Our WR class that year ended up horribly for us:

Tyron Johnson - OK ST
Jazz Ferguson - NW ST
Derrick Dillion - Meh

The Ferguson bros are so talented

Another example of a player involved in LSU’s passing attack succeeding elsewhere.

He never would have put those numbers up at LSU but would have played a lot if he could have stayed off the weed.
How bad is LSU's weed culture?
Why do our players always fail drug tests compared to other conference members?

You can pick any Scholly receiver off LSU and they would put up awesome numbers at a small school (McNeese/Northwestern st). Is that really damning of LSU coaching?

The damning part is that you can pick most receivers off LSU's rosters that can't put up numbers at LSU.

The only LSU receivers that have even come close to that stat line in the last 8 years were Reuben Randall in 2011 (53 for 917, 8 TDs) and Jarvis Landry in 2013 (77 for 1193, 10 TDs).

I'm sure that one missed block is what got him suspended.

Well the SEC is a small step up in competition from the Southland Conference

Other conference members have their players getting arrested for possession and nothing happens to them.

Partly because schools like Ole Miss don't even have an internal policy on weed.

Because Bo Bahnsen and the LSU compliance dept treat weed like it’s crack. LSU is its own worst enemy in this regard.

The SEC let’s the schools have its own drug policy, why on earth would you voluntarily enforce a strict one?
