Mason Katz played centerfield in 2012, moved to 1B a year later... that's still crazy to me.

Mason did such a remarkable job at 1B in 2013 but like you said watching him try and field balls in the gaps during that super regional made me cringe ever time I heard a ping.

I'll always miss Ryan Eades looking like he ran a marathon in the top of the 2nd inning

When I said Mahtook wasn't in the conversation, that by no means meant he wasn't good ad a center fielder . Just meant that I think from a strictly defensive point of view, Landry and Stevenson are a good bit better than him.

And last time I talked to him, playing catcher in the minors. So is Austin Nola

I couldn't be happier. There's no sense in not going after slap hitters who's primary tools are glove and speed and then you can plug and chug a power hitter here and there in RF

Glad someone else remembers Armando! J.C. Holt, Mike Koerner, and David Raymer were other great center fielders from way back when. We have really been fortunate in the caliber of players we have seen play at LSU.

The roster Mahtook is on has Jacoby jones starting in the outfield so then he also deserves to be in the conversation and jacobys been starting over Mahtook

Jacoby Jones played 2nd base at LSU. 2nd base is a position in the infield.

If you want to truly appreciate how good Stevenson is just think that as a freshman he came in and started day one. We had JaCoby Jones on that team who now is the starting center fielder for the Detroit Tigers and he didn't even get a look at center field. Crazy to think about that now.

Is he the best defensive outfielder
Defensively speaking, Landry. He had way better of an arm and made some ridiculous catches
