Flip on any old reel of LSU defense, you will see hard hitting, players running to the ball, and making offenses regret going near the ball. Turn on this years games, it is us (the defense) who seems timid around the ball and scared to make contact.

It’s a 15 yard penalty - and ejection - to hit someone hard.

i’d rather them try and make them jump for a Football than have a TE running wide open.

That was due to guys leaving their assignments rather than an issue with the scheme. People in man coverage also lose discipline and leave their assignment because they think they have to attack the QB who may run. It is, unfortunately, an all too common issue.

Is that on the coaches? Maybe, if this is still true in the next few weeks, I think the answer is yes. But I think the scheme may be tailored around the talent if it is as lacking as many here suggest. If you lack speed and/or cover skills for man-to-man aren't zone schemes your only real options?

noted that these current transfers and players like from Southeastern and other places should never have been recruited by LSU’s coaching staff.

So it begs the question, how a school like LSU, known as "DBU" and "NFLSU" has had trouble attracting quality DB's in this day and age of NIL and transfer portal?
