Look. Teams like bama, auburn, Ohio State, lots of west coast teams and more start a new qb damn near each year. Georgia comes to mind of late. While Joey doesn’t have the luxury of “lots” of time to learn our plays he does have “ enough” time. How? Why? Because of previous experience and having it between the ears. College football playbooks are not rocket science. Too many other teams install players who do just fine. Joey knows football. It’s not like his tiger playbook will be written in another language. Thoughts?

I’m not worried only 35% of the playbook is in according to coach O and the offense fits him we will be fine

Of course he will. These kids either get it or they don’t. U can’t convince me that our plays are that different from lots of other teams

Assuming he has the fundamentals down, all he really needs to learn is the playbook which apparently is only at 35% right now. He'll be alright, there's only so many different routes a WR can run.

If Burrow doesn’t start against Miami this is all for nothing and it’s all over.

I’m one of the biggest O critics out there and even I am pumped about this season now.

There will never be a better situation for O to succeed. Never.

But if his hand picked staff can’t put together an offense good enough with an Urban Meyer developed QB to let Aranda’s defense carry us to at least a NY6 Bowl, this experiment is an undeniable failure and it is time to pull the plug.

Exactly 7nette. That 35 percent is bullshite in my opinion too. I interpret that maybe our worst players only know that much. Also, the new kid will possibly facilitate quicker learning by the others too. Rising water raises all ships

Legally, the coaches cant work with him until Auguast camp. So it will be tough on him in that regard.
Secondly, we cannot just stop what we are doing and stop developing the projected starters of spring ball. So that will take a lot of snaps away.

Guy has been at ODU 3 years and another kid came in and outperformed him and took the starting job. A kid with a set of talent skills like LN.

I get it...I understand the excitement. But automatically saying this guy is better than Brennan or LF....well it's just premature.

My first thought was, Miami won't be ready for Joey in time.

You can’t undervalue the fact that he is a “graduate transfer”. That means no school requirements. He simply shows up for one job and one job only: football!

I agree, as long as he puts in the work he will be fine. The big thing will be timing with receivers and most importantly chemistry and getting to know his teammates. Getting to know his teammates and teammates getting to know him and developing trust is the biggest issue.

I can’t wait to see Burrows play. I’m not buying into the hype but very eager to see what the kid has.

I don’t know what to tell you if you honestly believe he wasn’t recruited to come in to start.

They can tell the media all they want, but most adults here know the truth.

Don’t be dense.

Send Terrace to wherever Joe is this summer, with a playbook, and let them get some chemistry going.

Just to state the obvious, don’t expect perfection from the kid.

After our spring game, many or most of the fan base was disappointed with the QB play and realized we needed help at the QB position position. I am sure the coaches were much more aware than the fans were.

Burrow had a very impressive spring game. A quality QB like Burrow was a gift to find this late in the process and LSU's need for QB depth was a blessing for Burrow.

Burrow gives LSU a chance to be better and LSU gives Burrow a chance for greater success.

Hopefully, this will be a win-win situation.

There's some options, none ideal for someone new to the program, but options nonetheless:

A) this is where someone like Moffitt is valuable. He can work with him and the other S&C staff. Don't forget, it was Moffitt that put Landry and OBJ on juggs machines; this isn't a foreign concept.

B) All those QC analysts and consultants

C) Players like Giles, and Foster Moreau (there's likely a reason he was his player-host on visit).

Any combination of A,B, & C.

If Brennan and Narcisse are smart, they'll be participating in those workouts above with Burrow. The backups job is to play like the starter. Somebody has to be the backup. To workout/drill with someone who's spent 3 years under Urban, especially Narcisse, is valuable to them personally. IF there's any butthurt, put it aside for their own sake and get to work.
