There was a lot of bad on our potential hire list last go round. Not to mention several wouldn’t have considered LSU anyway. There’s not a home run hire out there waiting for a call.

1) Larry Fedora: fired from UNC, now Baylor OC
2) Tom Herman: soon to be fired by UT
3) David Shaw: HC at Stanford, flat out declined the job and was 4-8 last year.
4) Jim Mora: fired, now announcer
5) Dana Holgorsen: resigned from WVU, now HC at Houston
6) Mark Dantonio: retired from MSU
7) Gary Patterson: HC at TCU, 5-7 last year
8) Bobby Petrino: fired from Louisville, now HC at Missouri State
9) Jeff Brohm: HC at Purdue, 4-8 last year
10) Willie Taggart: fired from FSU, HC at FAU
11) Chip Kelly: fired from NFL, HC at UCLA 4-8 last year
12) Kliff Kingsbury: fired from TTU, now HC at AZ Cardinals
13) Bill O’Brien: retired/resigned from Houston
14) Bob Stoops: retired, now XFL coach
15) Dave Aranda: HC at Baylor, 2-6 going on 2-7 this year with a team who was in the B12 conference championship a year ago

Well if a ships sinking not fixing it sure doesn't help the chances of survival.

I rather take chances atleast attempting to fix it rather than continue to watch it sink and die.

Get the concept?

You conveniently left off Mullen, who was inevitably getting the job had we not hired O.

That said, I do agree...Coaching changes are a crapshoot. Although LSU seems to do just fine regardless who the HC is.

I would rather be on a flimsy raft than the sinking Titanic

If it wasn’t for Burrow O would be on that fired list.

If Tiger Rant got their guy we would've gone 7-5 for the past 4 years and never came close to winning a title. I want O gone now but I hope we hire someone completely off this board's radar for obvious reasons

No we didn't do just fine with who we hire! Archer , and Hallman, were horrible, and Dinardo wasn't elite.

From what I understood Baylor lost a ton of players from that roster last year(similar to LSU)

No excuses is what I was told. They returned their starting QB.

Mullen was a clear grand slam. Track record of maintaining a winning program in the SEC through multiple recruiting cycles. Track record of developing multiple all-sec qb’s with a variety of skill sets and building offenses around them.

The O hiring gave us last year. And it’s hard to be mad at that end result. As bad as this currently is. But the decision to hire O over Mullen was and is ludicrous from a process standpoint
