What I love about the "they'll hate him even is he beats bama and wins a championship" argument is

1. He hasn't come close to doing the things they ever say

No he hasn't, Not even close.

2. They're the same people who shite on Miles won won a NC AND beat bama before.

Exactly! That's the crazy part of it to me. Miles took shite each and every year, no matter what the teams record was. From 8-5 seasons to 13-1 seasons and everything in between. Didn't matter if we won a NC or finished fifth in the West.

Now, those same people are crying like little school girls cause they think o isn't being treated right.

The bulk of my fanhood/formative years came during the Les era, so it just feels weird approaching a season without championship expectations.

Miles proved even an average coach can come into an already established LSU program and have this type of success.

Why should LSU simply settle for less? Because they once were crap? They have so many advantages, #1 recruiting grounds/talent and no major college threat in the same state. They also have a big time NFL pedigree atm.

Miles did run a tremendous program.

its been almost 2 years...everyone pretty much agrees he was a bad hire.

It's not even that he's a bad hire....it's that he's a completely unproven one AND THEN people want to treat him like he was a normal, high expectation, high flexibility hire. He very specifically isn't that.

His leash should be extremely short and the Canada situation, with the consequential Ensminger promotion, should throw up copious amounts of red flags. And the media does catch on, mostly, but reject to actually printing the news story: "Alleva is a close to incompetent AD who made a program defining blunder." But even they still treat O like any other ole hire.

That's what gets me.

"Oh yeah well he was a bad hire but let's afford him all of the concessions that someone that actually deserved the job should get." It's bullshite.

should have been, which was my one comfort.....then months later we found out Alleva gave the man a fricking nice sized buyout. I didn't think it was possible to think any less of Joe until that news dropped.

He didn't rebound. We started 3-2 and finished up going 3-2. If anything we limped home with our worse record since 2014 and our worse total offense since 2014.

It was one win better than the poorest team performance we have had in the last seventeen years.

Yeah, we coming!

2015, 2016, 2017 adds up to three where I went to school.

Saban was 8 and 4. Then 10 and 3. Then 8 and 5.
Orgeron was 6 and 2. Then 9 and 4. Now what. Looks pretty even to me.

not nearly as frustrating as people suddenly being concerned with finances or optics.

"you absolutely CANNOT, I repeat, CANNOT fire O after this season. Can you imagine how bad that would look if LSU fired its head coach and was trying to hire someone while paying two other head caoches?!?!"

yeah, because college football coaches have shown that they care about integrity.

He won’t, because people who make Saban comparisons always do so in a vacuum and ignore the state of the program when they took over.

Separated by 2 seasons between them. You didn't understand that point? Did you graduate high school?

Would 9-4 losing to the 4 best teams on the schedule be a huge accomplishment?

Would beating Miss St, Florida and A&M really make that a good season?

I like Mullen by Florida has a dearth of talent on Offense. A&M doesn’t have a good defense or a QB. And I think MSU takes a step back with the new coach.

I think The DC is a downgrade too.

no but since they've built the narrative that this is the hardest schedule in the history of football, 9-4 will be enough to get O to year 3. Clearly, that's enough for some in this thread.

It was three full seasons total and that's the point.

We finished 6-2 last 8 games.....love the way you narrowed it to the last five to fit your agenda a-hole.
