For 2025 football season, will we lose more than we gain in the portal.

With potentially Collins and Ibeita already a foot in the door, and I'm sure others thinking hard about it, do you feel there will be more lost than gained in the portal with the way Kelly wants to build from within.

I can't see K. Jackson (RB) wanting to ride the bench, and a disappointing season and losing some star recruits will not help with the locker room.

Upvote if you think we lose more than we gain, and downvote if you think we will be better off.

Sounds like we will gain a lot more than we lose in fan support. Addition by subtraction.

NIL has these kids testing the market for the biggest bag they can get. Get used to this. A coach must recruit his current team, as well as who he chooses to bring in, every year. Unfortunately, we won’t know who actually wants to leave for dollars or playing time.

Players leaving are mostly guys who won’t help us in 2025. The incoming freshmen class along with the portal additions will be a healthy number. You need guys to leave to stay under 85 scholarships.

LSU fans are the worst of all time. You SOB's are miserable human beings. You just can't help yourselves I guess

He will have every opportunity for meaningful playing time next season with Josh Williams gone.

The rich get richer with the portal. LSU will nearly always win in the portal era.

With that said, they need to abolish the portal for the sport.

I mean it depends on who we lose. The guys that have entered wouldn’t be contributors next year. Now if someone like Womack enters that’s a problem. On the flip side there’s no guarantee that the guys we get from the portal will be contributors either

Looking at the downvotes, I think you have your answer!

The impetus for this concern post is two guys who were likely never going to play a meaningful snap for LSU entering the portal? EVERY team is going to have such players transfer out

Those guys had zero offensive production though. That's no knock to them and maybe they can be productive players, but losing or gaining players who are producing at this level would seem to be the biggest indicator when talking about losing or gaining more in the portal.

I don't think overreactionists on Tigerdroppings like you actually affect the mentality of this team, nor do members of the team share your opinion on the trajectory of the program. They seem very confident in what they have, and the players seem bought in to the vision here.

A bunch of kids will be processed and enter the portal so we can take a large freshman and incoming portal class.

Quantity we lose, quality we gain.

We're going to lose a bunch of guys who aren't getting playing time like every other school and we're going to pay top dollar for a few starters. That, plus our incoming class and last year's class, has us in a pretty good position going into 2025 if we get Nuss, E Jones, and Daniels, and a couple other seniors to return.
