Take out all of the personal BS that rantards have concerning Saban or Miles and just look at their body's of work in college football. These two coaches have set themselves apart from any other coach. I have laughed so hard at the comments made by some when it comes to Saban or Miles. Coach Saban, plain and simple, is the best in the business (strickly from a coaching stand point) in college football. But, when you look at what a coach has to offer to the university he's representing, is there a better coach in college football than coach Miles? I give a very slight edge to Saban, but if Miles goes to Bama and wins, then he's the King of college football, IMO. Yes, there will be some that don't want to admit this, but I will pose this one question. Is there one college football team, collectively with their coaches, players and fanbase, hollering "we want LSU/Bama", NO! The only two teams (along with their fans, coaches and players) hollering are LSU and BAMA. We tresure these moments. For one reason and one reason only, this is what college football is and should always be about.

Just a side note: I've been going to LSU football games since the 70s. I dont think I've ever been this excited about a game ever.

Forever LSU!

While I agree that they are CURRENTLY the two best, people fail to realize that coaches are not static individuals. They learn, evolve, critique their game plans till they find what works. Do I think Nick Saban Was the best coach in the country in 2000? No. Do I think he was the best in 03? No. Do I think Les was the best in 05? No. Do I think he was the best in 07? No.

They have both evolved to become the best, by way of LSU. For that we are fortunate.

Wow someone with some actual good sense. Most college football fans including LSU fans think Miles is crazy and lucky. Luck wins you one or two games that you shouldn't it doesn't give you a 80% winning percentage.

Neither was on top of CFB, until they got to Louisiana and harnessed the talent . Props to New Orleans players and the Louisiana players and others that recognized.Grambling in their glory days, built a dynasty with them, and the core was NOLA player, credit to the coach , who was the main coach who would take a chance on them, can't remember his name. I see these 2 last LSU coaches know where the juice is at. And don't crowed the kid from St. Rose.

I would agree with you good post.

Every time someone say something about Miles, they want to make it about Saban, and likewise. The two are tied at the hip, not by comparison, but what they have done for LSU. Saban is a great coach, it doesn't' diminish Miles one bit, and Les knows this. Ranters however, are too dense to see it.

Louisiana schools have a ridiculous talent pool to pull from. As long as whatever coach LSU has recruits well and there's continuity in gameplans and visions for the program, LSU should always have the talent to be a great team.

Yea, Louisiana honestly might be the best in football talent relative to size, like a pound for pound champion in boxing/MMA. We have some of the best in the country year in and year out and with the great coaching most of them get when they go to LSU, it shows. With some continuity in coaching and strategy, this program could be a perennial power for a long time to come.

The entire time Saban was at LSU, he got little mention because everyone raved on and on about Pete Carroll and Big Game Bob being the best in the business, then it was Urban Meyer, now Bama Saban. Our coaches never seem to get their due from the media, but whatever...we win and that's really all that matters.

Personally I like what Les has built here and I wouldn't trade hime for anyone

No way to decide since they are completely different.

If people favor a players coach who isn't an a-hole 24/7 they will pick miles.

If people favor a no nonsense a-hole who knows the game they will pick saban.
