This is true. Nobody knew who the hell Nick Saban or Les Miles was when they were named head coach at LSU. We had heard about 200 names for the opening, but not their names. We heard about a few "done deals" then too. Actually, I did hear a couple of guys talk about Les Miles as a possible candidate, but most people knew very little about him.

I won't believe anything until I actually see a new coach on TV with his LSU gear on. With that said, Jimbo hasn't said anything that has made him look like he has no interest. Some people think him coming to LSU is laughable, but I don't think that at all.

If he retires, he gives up the $15 mil. Not gonna happen

Um, it's called negotiation. He could most certainly "retire" and get most of that, with some give and take in other areas. Someone mentioned, for instance, having field named after him.

It's obviously going down tomorrow. Studies show there's less of a chance of an incident when you fire somebody at the end of the week.

This won't end well for LSU.

The excitement is building among LSU fans, yes some of it premature. But its what we do.

In all seriousness, it's Jimbo, I'm certain. Unless God forbid, his plane crashes or some mishap.

In light of LSU's Head Coaching history....You probably could have picked a better, more thoughtful analogy there!....Just Sayin!

That article did not increase my confidence that JF is coming to LSU.

Basically there was zero inside information and the report is simply that a guy who we might think might know something says that LSU wouldn't be moving forward like this if it was not happening.

Anyone, you are me could say that and it would have zero weight. This guy admit he is on the outside looking in and probably has less information about the situation that if he read all the rumors that get floated here after midnight.

At the very least I'd like to keep Orgeron and Wilson.

When we were sitting at 7-0, there was talk of maybe 3 assistant coaches getting jobs somewhere else. Our annual melt after the Bama game looks to have squashed those rumors. I recall Coach O talking about LSU being his dream job after we hired him. I wouldn't blame him for leaving for a Power 5 HC position but I'd be surprised if he gets that offer.

If we are going to start throwing ridiculous money around, they better save $1m for both O and Wilson. If you consider the ROI for both of those guys, they are easily worth more than we were paying Cam. That isn't a knock on Cam because we may never know what Cam was truly capable of.

Agree I am around the 90% mark as well. Think we are in a great spot to get him but recognize things can change quickly. Will be thrilled if we make it official.

I would say there is zero chance LSU is letting Miles go unless they already have another bird in the hand they are in love with. They know exactly who is going to sign on the dotted line to be the next coach.

Our next coach will not be the mainstream favorite. It never has and never will.
