My only concern about this game is that Fla will be able to get pressure with 4 and drop 7 and cover our WRs with numbers. Utah St rushed 3 and dropped 8 with some success at times getting to Burrow. Obviously, Fla’s defensive line is way better than Utah St. Anyone else see this as a problem?

I've noticed this too. I think using some RPOs to keep them off balance would help schematically. However, I think protecting Burrow and pressuring Trask is the single most important thing in this game. Both lines have to step up in a big way this week.

How did this work out for Texas?

I think you’re going to see emery in there quite a bit if they keep rushing 4

They will do this very little. Fla dc brings pressure majority of the time. I don’t see them getting pressure effectively bringing 4

All defenses can be beaten.

Drop 7? Zone. Find the open spaces.

Getting pressure with 4? Delayed release of TE or RB, or hit quick slant.

Get a back on a rub route. Hit Zuniga in the mouth and peel off in the flats and beat the backer.

This is worst case scenario for us and also how bama beats us. Can’t let them get pressure with 4

Which we will. I wouldn't be shocked if the Tigers amass more yards along the sward than through the air v. Florida

Any team at any level who can consistently get pressure/penetration with their front 4 has a huge advantage.

Only Bama has done this consistently against us.

Florida is a team in the conversation, however.

Texas rarely rushed just 4. Texas’s defensive line is not close to Florida. Texas’s DBs are not close to Florida’s.

Another thing I noticed against Utah St and other teams, our RBs are dodging a free rusher in the backfield on nearly every run. They have done a good job of avoiding the free rusher, but that is not a good recipe for running the ball well.

you drop 7 and rush 4 while stunting/looping those 4, it can definitely be a problem.

Especially by disguising that. If you think 6 are coming and speed your progression up and #'s 5 & 6 guess right and drop into that check zone (or lane, Grantham loves to disrupt the lanes and ignore the WR) then they didn't need pressure... you did it to yourself. Btw, exactly what Aranda is doing with his own zone schemes often.

In my opinion, the #1 thing to watch for is him attacking the backside (off-side) of our slide blocking. He knows his LBs can defeat our RBs 1-on-1 and that we do alot of slide blocking. We'll either have to anticipate that and move pocket enough to buy time and make them back off of it some, throw to there without getting baited by a S, or (this is what I'd prefer) either RPO it, if you can recognize it early enough in the mesh point, or just run Burrow off of it with a 1-gap cutback after that backside attacker has rushed himself out of a LoS play.

In the instance of Burrow running it himself after a RPO non-handoff, I hope they can develop a signal to the OG to release to go after the S coming up or the LB rotating over. We are at home... should be able to communicate that. Lewis and Ingram both move well enough to do that.

Many check-downs to running backs. You can run the ball without running it.

Burrow threw for 344 against 8. Bet he can handle 7

Then you run, it’s not that hard. Run off the linebackers and DBs (with the WRs and TEs)
and run the ball....

Shame on them if they do not respect the rush. Of the OL can’t handle a four man rush, we’re in deep dodo :-)

If they rush 4 and drop 7, we run CEH, JE and TDP all day long.
