Free 24/7 Article with writeups for the RS Freshmen, how much they played with stats and who they are behind on the depth chart
Some of the Redshirts:
Defensive back Raydarious Jones
Offensive lineman Kardell Thomas
Outside linebacker Ray Parker
Inside linebacker Donte Starks
The five they expect to have a breakout year:
LS QUENTIN SKINNER - former No. 1 long snapper on 247Sports
DL SONI FONUA
DL Joseph Evans - started against Vanderbilt recorded two tackles in that game and finished with seven tackles on the season.
OL ANTHONY BRADFORD - the No. 13 offensive guard prospect in the country and the No. 206 overall prospect in the 2019 class
S TODD HARRIS - went down with a torn ACL three games into the season. started one game before his season-ending knee injury

How does a long snapper have a breakout season?

I want Raydar Jones to be a big time player here just to hear his name called.

Let's put it this way. If he doesn't have a "breakout" season, you will remember his name for a long time.

Nelson Jenkins
That's the big two

Yeah I wasn’t being an arse, I’m legit curious how a publication can predict a breakout performance for a long snapper.
You don’t want your name ever called on tv. Ever.

Next season will be the first year since 2011 where a Ferguson isn't the long snapper. Think about how good those two brothers were for the last 8 years handling that position.

Does “name being called on TV frequently” constitute a breakout year in your eyes or something? He didn’t contribute much last year, and they expect him to be a great snapper this year who will make a big positive impact on the team. Not sure why you think TV announcers would impact who is a breakout player and who isn’t

What are you talking about

What position will Devonta Lee play? He reminds me of JaCoby Stevens. It took him and us a while to find the right spot for him.

I wouldn't call my people "sources" but, I've heard some really positive things about the development of this kid Raydarious Jones. Raymond really likes his abilities and he's coachable. He's getting that treatment like they did with Greedy during that red shirt year !!!

I think alot of people take for granted the specialized positions. Having great punters, kickoff placekickers, field goal place kickers, and long snappers can be the difference in close games and going to the NC.
Special teams have alot expected out of them. They dont get much praise when they do well and get a ton of flack when they make mistakes.
We were fortunate to not have over snapped balls, kickoffs returned hardly at all, nor blocked kicks/punts this season. That can be a major shift in momentum in a game.

What happened to Jarell Cherry? Highly sought after, fast DE who RS'd? I understand he was seriously involved in our strength program and gained up to 270 or so, but I have heard nothing about his development or progress on the field.
Anybody able to report on his progress?

Another SEC coach who was recruiting Raydar, raved about him even after he had signed with LSU.
LSU is losing Fulton but still have three other CB's that played quite a bit. And played very well for the most part in Stingley, Flott and Ward. That is it for CB's on the roster right now.
They are bringing in the #1 or #2 CB in Elias Ricks and Dwight McGlothern who tore it up in the All-American allstar game. He was rated very highly at one time and then dropped. It looks like he may be back:
WEST SQUAD
Top Performers
2. Dwight McGlothern (25) - After announcing for LSU in the first quarter, the first declaration during the game, McGlothern then went out and showed why LSU made a late run for him, with two interceptions including a 38-yard pick-six of Evan Prater to put the game out of reach for the West. McGlothern also added a pass breakup and two tackles."
They also have another CB - Lorando Johnson who is committed but didn't sign in the early period.

We are DBU and Long Snapper U.
Can't really say LSU, because, well we are LSU.

Yep. I got a kick out of fans asking about the guy with the beard standing next to Joe at the white house.
Not knowing him is a testament to how good he was at LSU.
