First Visit To Baton Rouge for 2 Iowa Fans -LSU/Bama Game Tips

My friend and I are both Iowa graduates and fans, but we are trying to see other parts of the country and other school's game day experiences.
We have booked flights to BTR arriving 11/1 AM and leaving 11/4 PM. We have tickets already, have a hotel booked, and a rental car.
Is there a guide on the forum for out-of-state fans to visit Baton Rouge? Please point me there, or if there isn't one, any tips would be greatly appreciated.
We are looking for the best seafood, gumbo, and crawfish spots as well.
Should we even attempt to tailgate using our car, or should we Uber on gameday? If we should tailgate, how do we go about getting a spot?
Any and all tips are helpful! We will have Thursday afternoon until Sunday afternoon.

Bad memories of Iowa Wear white Iowa gear. Get drunk on our booze. Lose your voice during the game.
Be sure to go watch the players and band come down The Hill before the game.

Earlier thread with visitor advice
Where are you staying? That will play a role in where and when you park...
Friday night dinner...Parrains over on Perkins Road, or the Chimes on Highland right off campus...Walk-on's is fun for atmosphere, but I prefer the food at the other two...

Watch out for the alligators their every where.
Instead of uber I would suggest renting an air boat.

For the love of God, don't wear anything Alabama related. It's going to be a madhouse.
Thanks for coming. You'll have a great time. Here's an older thread with lots of advice

Best advice.....wear something that shows you are here for a bucket list trip. Wear your Iowa gear. Don't be afraid to walk up to tailgates, introduce yourself, and tell folks why you are here. You'll be treated like royalty.
Have a great time and come back to tell us about your experience.

Buy some boots, the campus is 12" inches under water.

If you’d like some fun interactions, wear a windbreaker with “SEC Replay Official” emblazoned on the back.
Seriously, don’t do that. Come and enjoy. Don’t wear anything remotely Bamaish.

yes, uber or lyft
dont even try to set up a tailgate. wear your Iowa gear and just join a tailgate. Walk down south stadium drive from highland road and just make friends
go eat at Sammys on highland for good boiled seafood and poboys
Others may disagree but Roux 61 on bluebonnet is great little restaurant. the seafood nachos are good. The alligator and crab cheescake is off the charts. the seafood muffelata (sp?) is the tits
go to walk-ons near campus on friday night. will likely have a live band in the parking lot

Get ready to get angry. This isn't the Big 10. And LSU fans are out for blood for this game. And more than usual.

Good advice!
I will stress once again to him, don't be shy! Go to tailgates and just start chatting it up. He will be full and drunk

Since you'll have about a day and half before the game go do some touristy things. Checkout both the new State Capital and the old one. They're only a few blocks from each other. There's Tin Roof brewing right by campus if you like beer. Magnolia Mound Plantation is right next to campus as well. It may also be a good time to stop by Mike The Tigers cage as I'd expect it to be a madhouse on Saturday. Might be able to get better pics with no crowd.
If you don't want to be on campus by 7am, then Uber might be your best bet. But then getting back to your hotel might take a while. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't. I know they're expensive, but perhaps consider a parking pass. You'd have to go thru something like Stubhub at this point.
