Don't even bother trying to tailgate with the way cops treat opposing fans.

When walking around - they will hammer you for open container. Even putting it in an unmarked cup is difficult and not worth it - ALSO - only walk on the sidewalks/crosswalks while you have the right of way - tried to step around a crowd in the street and that invited a search and confiscation of whisk.
Basically, walk dry to a bar, get loaded there, then walk dry to the stadium.

It is also my first trip there. We were told to park our RV in the lot behind the Hilton. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Jort vegas cops specifically target opposing fans whether they are on grass or sidewalk.

My suggestion would be to wear a neutral color like gray then change into LSU gear right before the game.

Fans there are arrogant assholes. I've been 3 times and have always been harrased by their fans, especially if they win.

That said, it is still a great stadium to watch a football game in. The fourth quarter gets as loud as Tiger Stadium if the game is close.

I quit going 4 yrs ago after making every game for over 20. I got tired of worrying bout the cops around the stadium & the marshal nazis inside. I would call up the SID dept & get a CLEAR definition of what consitutes an open container & the do's and don't's. They'll bust your LSU butt in a heartbeat. Fans are fans are fans & the game atmosphere is great, but the cops/marshalls are all SWAT team wannabes.

Fatheadgator how early do you think we need to get there to get a parking spot? Would we have time to go to like the Ale House or something when it opens at 11 and then go straight to campus after for the 330 kickoff?

They have the WORST fans in the SEC. They will try to start fights and throw stuff at you. At least in 2010. Talk to anyone who has been. They'll tell you the same thing. frick them.

We took the RV in 08. Do not. I repeat do not get caught in public with an open container.

This is a fact. Almost got a ticket for drinking in public.
It was my first time there. Very bizarre weekend. Jamarcus russells first start. (he didn't last long) Randall came in and threw the game winning TD to addai.
The same weekend in gainsville was the gay and lesbian festival.

Similar story, but I was in Little Rock a few years ago and wore a purple LSU Nike team polo. One of the idiot piglets yelled, "Nice Wal Mart Shirt." I walked over there and into their tent looked him in the face and said, "If it wasn't for Wal Mart, you wouldn't even have a fricking state." The rest of his buddies started laughing and he walked off. Classic

I live in Gainesville and work at UF. I wear LSU shite almost every day at work. No one really gives a shite. Gane day will of course attract all the idiots from around gainesville who only come in for games (similar to BR). Overall its a fun town. Tailgaiting is nearly the same as at LSU due to the proximty of bars and student neighborhoods.
For a change of pace check out the "downtown" area. Tall pauls and stubbies and steins are great beer places. Stay away from the chain type restaurants and you will find some great places to eat.

First time for me too. I live in Tampa so I deal with fans daily. They've been damn humble for the last 2 years. It's been nice.
