Good Morning everyone from Georgia! I know before you jump on my arse let me just say I really enjoy your site and I know its been a while but congrats on the NC. Me and 15 other people just booked our hotel for the game and we are all very excited. We are driving through the night Wed and should get there Thursday morning. I have been to almost all of the other SEC stadiums but none of us have been to Death Valley. Out of any team in the SEC I have the most respect for LSU!

What are some places to eat that we HAVE to try?

We are staying at the Sleep Inn on Plaza Americana drive (We were going for cheap!) Is it an ok place?

Where do visiting fans usually go to tailgate?

Any bars that we must go to?

Any other suggestions?

I would greatly appreciate your help and we are looking forward to one hell of a ballgame! Thanks in advance for your advice!

By the way if anyone claims to have the best boudan balls (sp?) please let me know where you tailgate because I would walk across earth to get some!

All I can suggest is get out there really early on gameday. There will be tailgaters everywhere. Wear your UGA gear. Take your booing and tigerbaiting like a champ and youll be fed and given plenty of booze

One thing that we do on all of our road trips that I suggest you do is to eat at Hooters on Friday for lunch. There is one off College Drive that you can see from the interstate. 15 guys dressed in UGA gear the day before the game, ya'll will have fun in there.

chimes, at the northgates of campus is a good place to eat.

and you chose a bad year to come to tiger stadium as a UGA fan,... I have a hunch your fans are going to get hell for all the crying you all did last year and the way you treated our fans in 2005 at the sec champ. game.

SilverBritches82, you sound like a reasonable guy and that's all you need to be to enjoy yourself. If you take the tigerbaiting too serious and start cussing at the LSU people, you'll be in for a world of hurt. However, if you smile or yell your team chant back at them, they will laugh with you and offer you a beer and some food.

Chimes on gameday is awesome and it's right off campus. You'll need to get there early because it's allways packed, but you'll love it.

Never heard of it and don't even know where it is.

Unless your school has rented the Field House or some place else, there really won't be any room for UGA fans to tailgate in a group. You will either have to walk around and meet LSU fans, or go to some of the bars close to campus.

I suggest you go to the Varsity which is next to Chimes. It's got A/C and several big screens to watch all the games of the day. They have plenty of beer and mixed drinks, plus you can get food.

It is located in the Airline Highway / I-12 area...there is really nothing in that area worth a crap (I think it is next door to a cracker barrel)....but other than that...not really walking distance to any good restaurants, bars, etc.

I always park and tailgate in the field south of the school. If you look at the map. it is west of the #8. It is a little bit of a walk to everything, but it is free and if you get there by 10-10:30, you won't have a problem finding a spot.

We usually park, drink, go to the bookstore, go back, drink, go to game. Pretty good ritual.

For tailgateing - i suggest you just walk around and see all the tailgates. 90% will offer you food and drinks and you can enjoy the different tailgating scenes. The parade grounds would be a good place to start on the corner of Darymple and Highland and jsut work your way toward the stadium and around it.

Thanks Auburntiger...We were not really looking to spend a whole lot. Its a place to lay our head. We tried to get in around constitution drive hotels like where UGA is staying but they are all booked up like 4 hotels around that area do not have one room.

If I were you, I'd get there early(gameday), and walk around. Check out all of the tailgating. You will run into several of your fellow Gawja fans who will be tailgating and also meet plenty of kind LSU fans who will make sure that you have something to eat and cold beer to drink. If you never been to T.S, then you definetly want to see the entire gameday atmosphere. Don't box yourself in some bar until gametime.

Don't worry about the location of your hotel. You should only be there to take a shower and go to sleep.

That Sleep Inn is not near anything worth a shat. Get up early, get to campus and find a place to park. Go to the Chimes for lunch and hang there for a few hours. Then, walk around campus the rest of the day. You'll be treated well as long as you don't have thin skin.

Sleep Inn (10332 Plaza Americana Dr)

It's off Airline Hwy when you come into Baton Rouge. You'll be fine there. To get to LSU you'll just need to get back on the interstate and go a few exits down to the New Orleans/Baton Rouge split....Take BR....any of the exits from College Dr on will you get you to LSU.

Hey you guys have been great! (I dont care what everyone says about ya!! jk) I really do appreciate all of your insight, seems like chimes is the place to eat! I was not looking for a bar on gameday but for Thursday night! Hooters is sounding really nice! One thing I can not wait for, is watching the tiger band run down a hill while they play before the game? is that what they do? its something before the game is all I know!? The only other band to give me chills, is the Golden Band from Tigerland! That and neck I love when they play that!

Who's ready for some football?

How old are you? Sullivan's Ringside is in the same shopping area as Hooters and I would recommend it on Thursday night. Downtown BR can be good on Thursday or Friday night as well.
