Staying at the Magnolia Hotel, any suggestions for food/sports bars in walking distance?

Woodrow’s and Pitch 25 are some great places to pregame.

The Rustic downtown and Biggio's are more known and bigger spots. Eighteen Twenty Lounge is a cool bar by the Stadium. Truck Yard and 8th Wonder Brewery are in Eado and may need to uber but not too far.

I agree with everything on your list except Frank’s Pizza… unless it’s just there for a late night slice when you don’t care about quality.

I’ll also add Brasserie du Parc - a French bistro. Never had a bad meal there.

Thought something like that could be needed.

This is a good list. A big fan of Rodeo Goat. Have good burgers for a quick lunch.... Pappasitos and Pappadeauxs are good Houston favorites.

Yeah I disagree there. Franks is great no-frills NY style pizza. It’s not “gourmet” so maybe that’s the problem for some. But it is great at what it is and has been around forever. Everybody knows Frank’s.

It’s not a sit-down, waiter-service restaurant though. More like an indoor food stand with tables. So if you’re wanting the restaurant experience try something else.

The Papa’s restaurants are generally proficient at what they do but not special. They’re also a chain. If you’re visiting Houston and going to one of those places, it’s a bit like going to New York and eating at Chili’s for your big night out. Take one of the more unique suggestions being offered here.

And when I want great Cajun food, I go to Louisiana not Texas.

Sunny’s is a great bar! Lots of fun, really small. Be sure to do a Ray Charles shot!
