Have you given a rational/lucid thought to how much better the defense would be if the offense wasn't so bad?

That’s a fair question. Time of possseion was essentially the same for the Florida and A&M games. How was the O to blame if that is the case? LSU’s favor for Florida (slightly) and A&M’s favor (slightly) for A&M. Yardage was essentially the same. It was just in key moments of both of those games that the defense let us down. I also know the defense gave up a lot of points after big leads at times this year, too, which lead to the offense having to be conservative to protect leads. That’s a team sport.

Defense is amazing (Aranda is one of the best in the world), the offense and Coach O/E just get unfairly criticized and you tough guys blame them for everything.

Truth is, the D cost us losses to Florida and A&M.

Just the defense cost LSU the Florida game? The offense only scoring 20 points didn't affect the game? What about the pick 6?

Nah, just the defense.

Maybe it's because they're opinions?

Shoot us a link where LSU is top 10.

Did you watch the game? Everyone that did knows Mullen put on a clinic of how to beat Aranda with inferior talent. Just like he did last year with MS State. It’s not even debatable, tough guy.

I don't disagree that the defense could have played better. But, I also don't think it's a coincidence that in the UF and aTm games that they failed late in the games. Wins and losses are always a team thing and are ultimately the responsibility of the head coach.

Right. All the defenses fault.

(I'm still waiting for you to make a logical argument of how this is true, by the way)

With you 100%! Like I have said, Aranda is one of the best in the world at what he does — period. I just think it is unfair that when we win it’s Aranda and when we lose it’s O’s and E’s fault. That narrative from the Rant gets old and now people that disagree are “pussies”.

Really? Because you've claimed that the defense was to blame for two losses.

So, which is it?

The only person that has laid blame for a loss on one side of the ball ITT is you.

Ironic.

It’s all Coach O. The good and the bad. Wins (9) and losses (3). Just seems that now he’s winning you all try to make it something else. Some LSU “fans” will never be saitisfied. Picked to finish 5th in the West, fire them. Win nine games, fire them. Former coach averaging 10 wins, fire him.

Same with baseball and CPM, one of the best in the world, too. Was the same with Coach Brady, who won more than Brown or Wade.

We are the most unreasonable “fans” in the country.

You’d be surprised at how far this would go with future recruits. And, how can White improve his stock? He should go.

Correct me if I’m wrong but it was 1 game out of 22 where an opponent scored more than 29 points.

When it was 21 straight games, it was the second longest active streak. With #3 being in the mid teens.

That while playing against more top 25 teams then almost anyone else in the country? I wouldn’t blame the defense. Sounds more like a lack of scoring issue.

Can't argue with you here. Blaming the defense for a loss when they only gave up 20 points is about as unreasonable as it gets.

Before you respond again, just stop and think about something: You've gotten up on your soap box to whine about the LSU fanbase because they complain and place unwarranted blame too often. You've done this in a thread where you've complained and placed unwarranted blame on the defense and Dave Aranda.

Now that you've wrapped your head around the irony of this situation, just go ahead and stop.

Wait I don’t frequent the rant enough, these rantards are transferring the blame to the Aranda?

Man being a coonass buys a lot of rope in this place...also, having the local media in your pocket doesn’t hurt.

Think about that for a rational/lucid moment, if you have one, without simply responding with derogatory comments to someone you have never met before. I’ll be glad to discuss, but not at Sonic, Baw!

You guys have it wrong. Ed's team, if the defense is playing poorly, that's still on him. He has the final say on his staff and the players brought in.

Ed Orgeron is the reason we lost 3 games. No one else.

this here is why the bowl game isn’t meaningless. Make no mistake a win in a NY6 bowl will have major implications this offseason and coming preseason. Land an extra recruit that’s on the fence and have a better jumping off point to begin next season.

I happen to disagree. We lost to ND last season in a really bad way and here we are going to a NY6 bowl with a top 5 recruiting class thus far. The prior season we stomped the Heisman Trophy winner and at the end of the following season had the worst recruiting class in years.

The stuff that matters isn't decided on by the outcome of a bowl game.
