Hate that it’s a day game. You won’t get the full effect. Maybe check out Ruffinos Friday night for dinner. Make friends on campus before and after the game and you will eat well. Also, ignore the assholes on this board
This.
There’s usually a post at the bottom of this page that talks about the timeline for game day. If you want to see the most popular activities like the players, walking down the hill, the band entering the stadium, things like that. The school does a pretty damn good job of following that thing to the minute.

Elsie’s Plate & Pie on Government St. Get the crawfish queso app, and save room for dessert.
For a great steak, down the road is Doe’s Eat Place.

There'll be plenty of free food offered to you around the tailgates if you'll wear you team colors and accept being "Tiger-baited" with a smile and a little bit of smack talk in return. Louisiana folks are keen to offer a bit of their finest food to a visitor. It's not just being neighborly. It's about pride and wanting to hear how your response will be.
For places to go out to eat way from the game, Mike Anderson's has always been a favorite for really good seafood. Breakfast before the game - get in line EARLY at Louie's Cafe just on the north side of campus. It's about a ten or fifteen minute walk from Tiger Stadium. There WILL be a crowd at Louie's though since it's a morning kick-off.
Enjoy your visit to Baton Rouge! (Just don't enjoy it too much. We'd kinda like to enjoy the part that includes the final score for ourselves.)

This is the right answer. I live in Nashville and say all the time, I want TN to be consistently good. Y'all play BAMA and FL every year just like we do. So it is beneficial for both teams if we make those games difficult. I expect the fan bases to get along pretty well considering its a big game and its early in the AM.
I can pull for TN as long as they aren't playing the Tigers!

For breakfast I’d hit the IHOP on College, not far from the stadium and you’ll make it to the game in plenty of time.
Postgame drinks, you can hit the Chili’s right back there off College. Excellent margaritas.
May hit Red Robin near the mall for the later games. Burgers are great and good draft beer selection of Ultra, Bud Light, Coors, and a couple craft beers like Angry Orchard and Blue Moon

Not sure where you are staying, but maybe try to hit up Coffee Call early for some quick beignets and cafe ole. I've always found Coffee Call to be reliable, though haven't been in a few years. If you can make dinner reservations, I'd recommend that. The good news is that with an 11 am kickoff you could actually drive down to New Orleans for dinner somewhere.
OP please ignore this guy. I believe he’s on drugs.

My brother is a TN fan; he went to UT. We grew up in LA. Hit me up and I'll connect you with him.

You are basically coming to one of the most murderous cities in the country.
Welcome.

Most opponents enjoy going into Mike's cage and seeing if they can get out alive. Take the wife and kids, too....I lived in Pigeon Forge in Lane Kiffins year there. Just picking with the Tiger thing. Be ready for 120 degree weather with the sun sending you for a halftime IV... They (CBS) don't know how hot it is in Louisiana for a day game. But you'll be a welcome guest. There's good people here in Louisiana and the eats are amazing.

Yeah, super excited for the food and culture. So many restaurant recommendations for so little time. Haha.

After the game goes to double zeroes, you might want to hang around for a few more minutes to make sure the game is over.

I have always liked The Chimes and must insist on a pint of Gnarly Barley’s Jucifer IPA

Ha! I gave this a upvote. I was only 14 when that happened, but I appreciate the humor.

Trying to decide if we want to stay in NOLA or BTR on Friday night. How bad and how early does traffic start getting backed up. We would like to be parked by 9 or 930 am at the latest. We have a parking pass in lot 407 if that helps any.

The wife and I are leaning more toward BR now.
